Reporting to the Head, Administration, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support for the Communication and Events (C&E) team. The primary aim of the role will be to facilitate smooth operations, ensuring the seamless and timely execution of events and communication strategies to deliver exceptional experiences to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Work with the C&E team on related matters but not limited to:

Communication and Events

• Provide fresh insights and ideas to enhance the strategic workforce planning for events

• Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders on communication and events related matters

• Provide logistical support during preparations for events

• Process student assistant claims and assist in procurement related matters, assist in budget projection and managing budget utilisation for C&E

• Manage event inventory – procurement and distribution of event gifts, corporate gifts

• Support the maintenance of WKWSCI social media platforms, working closely with C&E managers and colleagues.

• Work with Communication Manager to design and create content for digital platforms 

• Maintain an editorial calendar for all digital platforms.

• Apply data analytical tools to track sentiment, media mentions. 

Administrative support

• Provide administrative support to the C&E team managers on the full spectrum of tasks and functions related to the team

• Provide administrative support to Assistant Chair (Student Life & Alumni) on matters relating to students and alumni.

• Follow up with students/alumni queries on events or activities.

School Visits

• Take charge of the planning and execution of outreach and admissions related school visits

• Liaise with Office of Admissions for potential school visits from JCs, Polys or IB schools, and the school coordinators in charge of the visits

• Coordinate with Tech team to set up demos as part of the school tour

• Identify and engage suitable students or faculty for the visits

Student and Alumni Engagement

• Provide support in terms of vetting submitted proposals for all student-initiated and/or alumni events, event execution, procurement, handling post-event claims and expenses, and tracking event budgets.

• Maintain and monitor AC-Students and Alumni role-based email account

• Assist with communication materials to students and/or alumni

• Follow up closely with students and/or alumni queries on events and/or activities.

• Work in partnership with the C&E team on student-led activities

• Recognized Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Higher learning institutional work experience will be advantageous.

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to participate in-depth underwriting discussions with lenders and senior credit management regarding real estate taken as collateral. About you and this role:

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Process Automation Engineer located in Fort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN).

As the Senior Process Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical resource and process automation lead for small to large capital and improvement projects regionally and/or globally. Directs and leads both Dow and contract resources. You would be involved in all three phases of projects: front end loading, detailed design and construction, and commissioning and startup. Obesity is a growing health and economic burden worldwide. The candidate will work closely with their manager and other IMRU Pfizer scientists to support exploratory and portfolio efforts.

Summary

The Senior Human Resources Partner, Student Employment serves as an HR generalist and performs a variety of duties in support of the human resources function including but not limited to recruitment, placement, training, and employee relations. The Senior HR Partner will lead and support the student employment job placement process and respond to all policy and procedure inquiries. Additionally, the Senior HR Partner will collaborate with the office of financial aid to validate student aid awards prior to job placement as well as track and communicate federal work-study hours to both supervisors and students. The Senior HR Partner will also be responsible for providing information and assistance to faculty, and staff related to job postings, hiring, onboarding, and separation of employment. Additional duties will include projects related to the Federal Work-Study program and student employment such as recognition awards, benchmarking analysis, student retention metrics, and conducting training for both supervisors and students. Additionally, the Senior HR Partner will serve as the primary backup to the Talent Acquisition Manager and will be the first point of contact for Talent Acquisition needs in the absence of the Talent Acquisition Manager.

This is a hybrid position however in-office presence will be required for the first three months, and at the beginning of the academic year along with the flexibility to attend specific evening and weekend open house sessions.  

Essential Functions

Serves as the Senior Human Resources Partner by completing various functions to include:

• Providing guidance to all hiring managers throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.

• Posting all vacant student, faculty, and staff positions utilizing Workday HR Recruiting applicant tracking system. Ensuring job titles and postings are consistent university’s practices.

Performs various functions in the HRIS system to include:

• Initiating functions in Workday HCM/Recruiting such as creating job requisitions, referring applicants, or inviting candidates to apply for vacant positions. Approves/reviews various business processes in Workday to include hiring, placement, assign organization, and processing job changes such as transfers and terminations. Accurately enters the information in the HRIS database.

• Ensuring position titles are displayed in Workday in a consistent manner and follow best practices according to established protocols.

• Reviewing TeamDynamix ticketing system and responding to all open ticket inquiries within 72 hours.

• Reviewing and responding to emails received in the student employment mailbox.

• Testing new Workday Releases for functionality and potential implementation.

Coordinates and develops Work-Study and Student Employment programming:

• Collaborating with the Organizational Development team to create support programming for students to develop workplace competencies as well as process and best practice training for supervisors. 

• Partnering with divisional to develop and create student recognition programs.

• Attending new student orientations to promote the student employment program.

Develops Student Employment Hiring Policies and Procedures in accordance with best practices:

• Developing Work-Study/Student Employment guidelines for hiring managers and students.  

• Ensuring the Student Employment Handbook is current and up to date.

• Conducting benchmarking analysis on Student Employment policies, procedures, and programming as required.

• Maintaining membership with the National Student Employment Association.   

• Ensuring websites display accurate and the most up-to-date information on FWS/Student Employment hiring procedures.

Conducts audits and communicates the status of FWS hours:

• Monitoring the Federal Work-Study student total award amount on a bi-weekly basis to ensure student payments do not exceed allocated funds. Responsible for communicating FWS's remaining hours to both supervisors and students at least three times during a semester (during the beginning, mid-point, and towards the end, 2 to 3 weeks before graduation).

• Ensuring proper reconciliation to the general ledger for Work-Study Cost

• Ensuring Work-Study students are ended in Workday at the end of each academic year including graduating students.  

• Providing analytics and input into the review of student positions to ensure FWS funding is utilized to the maximum.

• Entering total award amounts for each FWS student in Workday. Collaborates with Financial Aid to modify award amounts as required.

• Enter one-time payments when applicable.Centers/Function/Fund.

Provides leadership, guidance, and support to direct reports by:

• Collaborating with the Manager of Talent Acquisition to provide ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure direct reports meet/exceed expectations related to service standards.

This role provides electrical maintenance support for the ES/EVO facility and the site electrical systems.  Utilizes electrical technical expertise to support the teams maintaining and repairing the electrical equipment in the facility and across the site.  Works closely with technicians, Maintenance and Reliability Engineers, and Run Plant staff to ensure safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the electrical equipment.

This role requires significant technical knowledge in a broad range of electrical systems, including high voltage power generation and distribution.  Assists in planning and prioritizing maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.  Completes hands on field repairs, commissioning, and installation of electrical equipment when required.  This role acts as a mentor for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role

• Enables the technicians who manage or perform work in the field with the electrical expertise, tools and information needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently.
• Complete complex problem solving, equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis for electrical equipment.
• Identify reliability improvements and equipment obsolescence opportunities, work with stakeholders to gain support and funding.
• Identify and implement Predictive maintenance activities for electrical equipment.
• Support spare parts identification and stocking.
• Ensures electrical work completed in ES/EVO aligns to global strategies, work processes and best practices.
• Participate on Technical Steering Teams.

Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

• Electrical Journeyman certificate.
• 6 or more years experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

Preferred Skills - An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential

• Electrical Technology Diploma.
• Five (5) or more years of petro-chemical maintenance experience.
• Five (5) or more years working with high voltage electrical systems.

Hands on experience in building cash & trade type reconciliations on intellimatch application (NextGen version 21.1.3 & above). Extensive experience in working on both thick and thin client of the application. Comprehensive understanding of SDLC in developing new reconciliations in intellimatch including gathering & documentation of business requirements, data analysis, data mapping, validate data against requirements, QA testing & supporting UAT. Ability to analyse source data and provide requirements to parse source data files to meet business/technical requirements. Strong understanding of creating new companies and balance pools, import formats, match rules, static data, models, etc.. Support change management function for existing reconciliation – understand the change, document requirements, test and share results. Act as Level3 support for existing reconciliation. Knowledge of SQL – Building stored procedures, running simple to complex backend queries. Knowledge of Cognos/Crystal reports is desirable (not necessary).

Requirements:

4/5 years of experience in development and configuration of reconciliations on intellimatch (NextGen version 21.1.3 & above). Strong Analytical skills. Strong verbal & communication skills. Strong ability to work closely with other team members and support Project deliverables. Support development, testing and user training.
