As Senior Solutions Architect at Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), you will be responsible for developing solutions to specified requirements and to agreed level of quality. This will include integrations into other technologies in order to deliver the required user experience.
You will collaborate with other team members including Product Owner, Delivery Manager, Architect and Test Engineer, and you will develop a deep understanding of MaPs IT capabilities and coach others and lead multiple architecture projects or programmes.
The overall MaPS architecture includes – AEM, React, React.JS, D365, Power Platform, .Net, JavaScript, Azure functions, Azure DevOps Tooling and more.

In this role you will be responsible for the following;
- Developing our digital products, with a focus on efficient, modular and maintainable code.
- Collaborating within an agile team, working closely with other developers, designers, editors, product owners and testers to deliver the best possible digital experiences.
- Using ADO (Azure DevOps) to manage work and tasks, collaborating with other agile team members.
- Engaging collaboratively with Architecture and DevOps on solutions design and implementation to ensure robust and well supported software.
- Collaborating with other digital disciplines (eg. UX, Analytics) to produce accessible digital experiences.
- Following GDS guidelines for Government Digital Services.
- Writing and reviewing technical documentation.
- Participating in our agile planning, estimation and delivery processes.
- Peer reviewing code developed as part of our workflow.
- Able to self-manage including keeping technical knowledge up to date.
- Promoting collaborative working, efficiencies and knowledge transfer.
- Actively participating within the wider community of practice; advocating engineering best practices and sharing knowledge/experience.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to other developers.
- Leading/facilitating technical discussions and engaging with external delivery partners as appropriate.
- Work in an Agile manner and champion across the team.
Skills needed for this role:
- Communicate between the technical and non-technical stake holders at all levels.
- Speak on behalf of technical teams and facilitate relationships with indirect stakeholders.
- Understand how governance works and what governance is required and take responsibility for the assurance of a service and know what risks need to be managed.
- Make decisions characterised by managed levels of risk and complexity and recommend decisions as risk and complexity increase.
- Resolve technical disputes between wider peers and indirect stakeholders, considering all views and opinions.
- Apply strategy, using and challenging patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements and provide guidance.
- Design systems characterised by managed levels of risk, manageable business and technical complexity, and meaningful impact.
- Work with well understood technology and identify appropriate patterns, understanding the whole context
- Understand trends and practices outside your team and how these will impact your work and see how your work fits into the broader strategy and historical context and consider the patterns and interactions on a larger scale.
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
- Extensive experience with React (SSR) and Next.JS.
- Experience in Headed and Headless content management and its application to websites and tools.
- Strong technical expertise with .NET, Visual Studio, JavaScript, C# and Plugins (Ideally have experience working with Genesys APIs or similar).
- Experience with Terraform and Netlify is desirable.
- Solution Design Experience with Dynamics 365.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Automate, Dataverse and Power Apps.
- Experience in Azure Function apps integrations including monitoring them for performance and failures.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Devops deployments and pipeline setup
- Agile delivery methodology and experience.
- Experience with web based integrations around OAUTH and Entra ID

At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. Most of our roles can operate on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, noncontractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs.
