Job Description

As part of the Councils Asset Management Team (Housing) you will liaise directly with the organisation customers on a daily basis to ensure high levels of communication and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction across the projects making up the Housing Investment Plan.

You will achieve this by working and promoting the delivery of a customer focused programmes for the replacement of windows and doors, kitchens, bathrooms, roofing and insulation measures. This post provides an opportunity to work with children who have a hearing or visual impairment. In addition to the roles identified within the Pupil Support Assistant job description, the specialist nature of this work will involve supporting the learning needs of hearing impaired children and their use of technological equipment, allowing their inclusion and access to lessons. You will work under the guidance of a Teacher of the Deaf/Teacher of Visual Impairment and you will be responsible to the Principal Teacher of the Sensory Education Service (SES).

We have a current opportunity for a Quantity Surveying Assistant on a temporary basis. The role will be working alongside the current post holder until early 2025, at which point the role will have the possibility of going longer term.

You will be working within the building services department who are responsible for repairs and upgrades to Social Housing. You will be involved in the costings for these works and also dealing with subcontractors. The role will involve preparing monthly reports for management and being involved in preparing tender documents.

The desired qualifications and experience are :

• Experience related to Social Housing Maintenance.
• HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related and can be working towards
• Good analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent organisational skills

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous experience working within social housing/maintenance/property or a candidate that is keen to progress after gaining a relevant qualification.
