MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. CLINICAL 1.1. Under supervision and with support delivers low intensity treatments to patients with mild to moderate presentations of anxiety and depression 1.2. Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary and appropriate. 1.8. Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of patient contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient. 1.9. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or patients in treatment, where appropriate. 1.10. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service. 1.11. Keep coherent records of all clinical activity and patient contact in line with service protocols 1.12. Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach. 1.13. Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process 1.14. Develop risk assessment skills to support patients access the appropriate and safe level of support. 2. PROFESSIONAL 2.1. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence). 2.2. Ensure that patient confidentiality is protected at all times. 2.3. Be aware of and keep up to date with advances in the modalities of treatment for common mental health problems. 2.4. Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with supervisors and/or line managers on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development. 2.5. Attend clinical / managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager. 2.6. Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives. 2.7. Keep up to date all records in relation to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and ensure personal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments. 2.8. Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with identified professional objectives. 2.9. To attend 100% of the PWP training programme provided by Exeter University and to complete the components of the course as set out by the University. 3. GENERAL 3.1. To contribute to the development of best practice within the service. 3.2. To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services. 3.3. In line with 2015 Future in Mind strategic vision for CAMHS the post holder will actively promote resilience, prevention and early intervention to children and young people in the community. The post holder will work with the CAMHS Liaison Practitioners to support children and young people where there is concern about emerging mental health issues or behaviours. The post holder will support the consultation process to the network or directly to the child, young person and their family. The post holder will be have an identified role as directed by the liaison practitioner, in further assessment, targeted intervention or group work that would meet the needs of the child or young person. The post holder will deliver training to community services and schools.

Clinical Practice 1. Develop high level skills in assessing, differentially diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual treatment interventions for patients by virtue of growing expert clinical judgement and partnership with members of the MDT. 2. The team
We are recruiting for 7 Assessors to join a new Assessor Team to support our customers on our Utility Warehouse project alongside our existing administrators, advisers and caseworkers. This project is part of the wider Utilities department where we’re currently a team of 77 people across four energy provider projects. The wider organisation includes around 170 staff, 40 volunteers, and 30 line-managers.

The role
The Gateway Team are the first point of contact for Utility customers referred to Citizens Advice Plymouth by their Utility provider. This role is fully telephone based, with a mix of office and remote working. It can sometimes be a challenging role, but you will be fully trained and supported, working as a part of an approachable and supportive team in a rewarding environment to provide the best possible service to people across England, Wales, and Scotland. The role is 37 hours a week (9-5 Monday-Thursday and 9-4:30 on Fridays) on a permanent basis. Part-time hours will be considered. The start date for this role will be July 2024, with interviews likely to be week commencing 3rd June 2024.

We support a wide range of people to find a solution for their debt circumstances. It’s the Assessor’s role to manage the referral and contact clients by phone, email, or webchat as first contact with the service. An Assessor is there to establish what the client needs and plays a vital role in the client experience as the first contact people have with us. You will complete initial assessments with clients as well as following up on their experience with us.

An Assessor must ensure that all relevant information is collected efficiently and accurately. We aim to progress the client’s referral as far as we possibly can on the initial contact and minimise the number of times they need to contact us. This is achieved by completing in depth exploration and providing tailored information where appropriate and booking in with either a Debt Adviser or Caseworker for an appointment if needed.


Training: Full training will be provided. During your initial classroom training and on-the-job learning, you will be working at our city centre office at Cobourg House. When you have been signed off to work independently (this usually takes 6-8 weeks), this role will have a hybrid work pattern, with a minimum of 4 days a month in the office at Cobourg House, 32 Mayflower Street, Plymouth. You will be expected to be able to attend the office as requested and at short notice if required.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidates will need excellent customer service and IT skills and be confident in using the telephone to assess complex issues. You will be resilient and able to assess people’s problems sensitively and compassionately through the phone, webchat and email referral pathways.

You will be comfortable managing and supporting others during times of crisis, including clients who may be suicidal, and you will be able to manage difficult and emotional conversations well. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to effectively communicate with our clients with a non-judgmental approach.

You will be able to competently use a range of Office 365 programs and keep case recording systems up to date accurately while still communicating with your client accessing the service. You will also have excellent organisational skills to be able to prioritise your workload well to achieve performance-related objectives.

You will have good boundaries and understand the importance of confidentiality in our work and be able to maintain this. Key Responsibilities of the Post. A. Service Delivery 1a To improve children and young peoples mental health through the delivery of an integrated and coordinated system of community based mental health care to children, young people and their families, providing safe, culturally competent, effective, cost efficient, timely and accessible services that are in accordance with national and local priorities and responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families. 2a To deliver independent prescribing to Children and Young People, who need pharmacological intervention and review. To also provide clinical input to the team, delivering practice within best evidence and to the highest possible standard. The post sits within the CAMHs Service delivering assessment and treatment interventions in line with NICE Guidelines. 3a For non-medical prescribers the role will involve the use of an evidence-based approach to assess and make an informed prescribing decision for a defined caseload of children and young people. This will be based on a clear theoretical framework and will take full account of the child or young persons developmental needs, gender, ethnicity, religion, race, ability and sexual orientation. 4a The post holder will be responsible for engaging and demonstrating ongoing CPD in relation to prescribing practice, and to support other clinicians undergoing the training. 5a To contribute to a positive working environment and open learning culture, which supports high morale and commitment within the CAMHS Service promoting wellbeing, personal development and continuous improvement in the standards of business activities and professional practice. 6a The post holder will demonstrate effective skills in the assessment and reassessment of risk and complex behavior issues and communicate concerns accurately in a timely fashion. This is inclusive of priority assessments and requires multi-agency responses to risk assessment and risk management plans. 7a The post holder will make an autonomous decision about the treatment, time of discharge, and agree with the child, young person and family/carers as well as multi-agency key partners. Clinical Practice Develop high level skills in assessing, differentially diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating individual treatment interventions for patients by virtue of growing expert clinical judgement and partnership with members of the MDT. Assess and initiate clinical management of ward attender patients in support of the senior neurosurgical staff Communicate and liaise with other medical professionals (e.g. GPs) and with patients families. Discharge patient review (all pts) - At time of discharge/transfer, to check with pt (and/or NOK) that they understand what their problem was, what was done, safety net, confirm FU arrangements, provide point of contact details and review meds / duration / DVLA advice Attend Outpatient clinics and Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings for professional development purposes and to provide clinical support where appropriate.

Trainee Project Planner

You will be given the opportunity to work within a delivery environment, supporting on Project Planning activities for projects/programmes. It will also enable you to collaborate with likeminded individuals to help solve complex problems within the mission systems and site operations space.

As part of the programme, you will be provided with the necessary tools, experience, and training to help develop your skills within project, programme and portfolio management (P3M). You will receive best in class training within project management, planning and controls, Primavera (planning/scheduling tool) and Excel. Courses will also cover soft skills such as negotiation presentation, emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. The training is centred around scenario-based learning, where you will be involved in practical application workshops.

Day to Day Responsibilities will include:

• Implementing and maintaining the Project structures
• Developing and maintaining the Project integrated schedule.
• Ensuring alignment between the integrated scheduling toolset and the companies financial and material demand toolset.
• Regular status update of the integrated schedule and the provision of metrics and schedule analysis of the impact to the project.
• Resource/cost loaded schedules to inform the IBP and also to provide financial status of the project

About the role:
Citizens Advice Plymouth and Improving Lives Plymouth are working together in a joint contract with Plymouth City Council to provide a joined-up quality information and advice service across Plymouth, known as Advice Plymouth. The service provides Telephone, Drop in and Casework support. As part of the delivery of Advice Plymouth, a team of Assessors provide a range of support needed by people with a local focus.

The Gateway Team are the first point of contact for members of the public contacting Citizens Advice Plymouth. The public can contact us for advice by telephone, digital or face to face options. An Assessor is there to establish what the client need is and plays a vital role in the client experience.

An Assessor must ensure that all relevant information is collected efficiently and accurately. We aim to progress the client’s enquiry as far as we possibly can on the initial contact and minimise the amount of contacts they need with us. This is achieved by completing in depth exploration and providing tailored information or advice based on the complexity of the issue and clients capability. This includes debt assessments and benefit checks. We aim to meet as much of our demand as we can through our telephone, email and webchat services both locally and nationally along with locally at our information centre where clients are supported face to face.

The role is 37 hours a week (9-5 Monday-Thursday and 9-4:30 on Fridays) on a permanent basis.

We anticipate this role to start week commencing 16th January 2024, with interviews to be confirmed once we have completed shortlisting.

About you:
The successful candidates will need excellent customer service and IT skills in face to face, digital and telephone based environments and be confident in assessing complex issues and working with people facing various challenges through those three contact channels in order to meet the needs and demand of the service through our on-site information centre, telephone and digital services.

You will have the ability to manage and support others during times of crisis, be resilient and able to manage difficult and emotional conversations well. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to effectively communicate with our clients with a non-judgmental approach.

You will be able to competently use a range of Office 365 programs and keep case recording systems up to date accurately while still communicating with your client accessing the service. You will also have excellent organisational skills to be able to prioritise your workload well to achieve performance-related objectives.

A willingness to attend training and be able work as part of a team, ensuring boundaries and confidentiality are always maintained. You should enjoy working as part of a busy, motivated and supportive team and be able to adapt well to changing priorities. You will be flexible to support the service where needed at short notice to cover absence.

Knowledge of the enquiry areas we advise on or awareness of local and national organisations that can help people with issues relating to those enquiry areas would be a bonus.
