As a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician apprentice, you will undertake an approved Level 3 or level 4 qualification (dependant on knowledge provider). As the programme is delivered as an apprenticeship, you will be expected to spend time in the workplace and 20% off the job learning. This usually means one day a week for study and workplace training for the remaining 4 days a week learning professional knowledge, skills and completing required competencies.

On successful completion of this 2-year training programme you will be eligible to register with the pharmacy professional body, the General Pharmaceutical Council, and become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Work based training will involve working alongside all different members of the pharmacy team to gain knowledge, skills and experience into the core areas of pharmacy practice, as well as the wider working of the KCHFT pharmacy team.

• Supporting patients in their own-home

We are looking for a motivated, caring, and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team and expanding Cardiac Physiology Service. Our main goal is to provide outstanding patient centred care. The Cardiac Investigations Unit at St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight is a small but busy department, offering a range of invasive and non-invasive services to patients needing diagnostic investigations and treatment within our hospital and expanding to the new Community Diagnostic Centre.

The Trainee Apprentice Cardiac Physiologist role is an exciting opportunity for individuals to have a dedicated learning pathway in Cardiac Physiology. Learning skills such as 12 lead ECG’s, Ambulatory 24-hour ECG and BP analysis, Physiologist led Exercise Testing, Pacemaker and ILR implantation and follow up.

Alongside practical training at St Marys Hospital, the applicant will be completing a BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) at Bristol University.

NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression Isle of Wight service (TTAD)

As part of the National Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (as was IAPT) we are seeking applications from highly motivated individuals, to join our team as a trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (tPWP). The successful candidate will be joining an established TTAD Service and will contribute to a stepped care model of service delivery for people experiencing anxiety disorders and depression. The TTAD service has a reputation for innovation and excellence and is committed to improving access to psychological therapies.

As part of the role you will attend the Post Graduate Certificate in PWP practice at the University of EXETER remotely as well as in person teaching sessions in London for a year. Alongside the training you will practice assessment and delivery of low intensity NICE recommended interventions under clinical and line management supervision.Employment beyond this period is conditional on passing the course and becoming registered as a qualified PWP with the BABCP or BPS.

People employed in our community, mental health and learning disability services by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust on 31 March 2024, will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) on 1 April 2024.

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust will continue to deliver both acute and ambulance services for the island population.

An average week during the training year may look like:
• Attendance of team meetings and forums
Offer 3-4 days of patient facing work either through face to face, telephone, online or group treatment modalities
• Attended caseload management, clinical skills and line management supervision
• Completing administrative tasks including session write up, onward referral, signposting, risk management and safeguarding reporting

Person specification:

Essential

Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or within a NICE evidenced psychological therapy.

or

Educated to degree, level 5 diploma or equivalent in a relevant field such as Psychology, Nursing, social work or Occupational Therapy

and

Evidence of working with people who have suffered with mental health problems for more than 2 years

Desirable
• Able to work towards and successfully complete the job specific PWP University Course including all the academic components of this
• Experience of working with people with mental health or wellbeing problems
• Understanding of the TTAD (was IAPT) model and how anxiety and depression based disorders may present in a primary care setting
• Effectiveness as a team player, with a positive and solution focused attitude who is flexible and willing to learn in order to thrive in the role
• Engagement with supervision effectively to support wellbeing and performance, responding positively when provided with constructive feedback
• Promotion of diversity, inclusion and respect in all aspects of the role, recognising the value of each individuals life circumstances and journey

Working as part of a team you will provide a wide range of duties to support delivery and assessment to a wide range of practical learning activities.
