This qualification will be delivered as part of a blended learning package with trainees obtaining their knowledge through virtual learning one day a week for two years to complete the NVQ element as well as being assessed also over two years in the workplace. We will consider applications from highly motivated and energetic HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientists or qualified Advanced Practitioners with extensive specimen dissection experience and the following qualifications: MSc in Biomedical Sciences or FIBMS or equivalent level of knowledge,Working towards or attained the IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection. Applicants working towards the IBMS diploma can be considered and would be appointed as a Trainee Advanced Practitioner in Cellular Pathology (Band 7) and would be expected to be awarded the diploma within two years of appointment and move up to the qualified post. Those already qualified will be appointed at the qualified Band 8a position. Applicants must possess an extensive experience in histological dissection and in-depth specialist knowledge of Histopathology. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. The candidate will work alongside an established team of APs, specialising in dissection as appropriate. The post holder will be recognised as specialist in their field, and as such the expert practice of the function will comprise the most significant part of their role. The post holder will assist Pathologists in specimen dissection and in that role will be expected to carry out the following duties according to the appropriate standard operating procedures, ensuring health and safety guidance is followed. Performing specimen dissection as part of the specific histopathology speciality teams. Teaching, training and supervision of Biomedical Scientists and ST1junior medical staff in appropriate dissection techniques. Providing support and advice to junior medical staff in the cut uplaboratory. Work under own initiative referring to standard operating procedures and amending as required after consultation with Histopathologist and Histopathology Management Team. The Breast Unit is a busy department working within both the National Breast Screening service and a Symptomatic Breast service. The ability to work both in a team and independently, and to communicate in a wide variety of settings, is essential.

The Newcastle Breast Screening Service delivers a screening service to a large rural area therefore a current driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Applicants for the above posts must hold a degree in Diagnostic or Therapeutic Radiography, be HCPC registered and have working knowledge of NHS policies and procedures. Applications will also be considered from qualified radiographers who are passionate about breast radiography and would like to train and complete the PGCert in Mammography.

THIS ROLE:

With _nology, you will embark on 12 weeks of fully funded training in software and cloud engineering, followed by an 18-month placement opportunity with one of our hiring partners.

The training program focuses on hands-on experience and equips you with the necessary skills to be job-ready for entry-level tech roles across a range of in-demand disciplines like Software, Cloud, and QA Engineering.

Our curriculum is taught by industry experienced coaches, in an interactive learning environment designed to empower individuals to enter the tech sector with confidence!

In addition to technical skills, we also prioritise soft skills and professional development, with a dedicated talent success team to support you every step of the way. We focus on improving your collaboration, communication, and interviewing skills to make sure that you are well-prepared for your new role.

The program offers you the chance to apply your newly acquired skills in the real world and gain invaluable industry experience. With over 90% of our _nologists securing a permanent position at the end of their placement, _nology is the perfect starting point for anyone looking to launch a rewarding new career.

ABOUT YOU:

• Ability to commit to completing our 12- week training program prior to employment (it’s funded by us!). Note: The training is fully remote and conducted full-time Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM AEDT. Start date for this intake will be confirmed upon application.
• Full working rights in Australia (at least 2 years)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated self-starter attitude, with the ability to learn independently as well as in group environments
• Demonstrates an interest and passion to work in technology! [No experience or education in tech required]
• Experience in a professional or fast-paced working environment desirable
• Experience working directly with clients and/or customers desirable
