People Support Officer

Here at Serco, we’re looking for a People Support Officer to join our People Operations team. Reporting into the People Directors for Justice & Immigration and Defence & Health, you will play a critical role in providing administrative support across a range of daily HR activities, coordinating actions across the business unit teams, and acting as an interface with others in our HR operating model.
As our People Support Officer, you will be responsible for arranging team meetings, ensuring agendas are prepared, attendee materials are available and circulated ahead of meetings and actions are recorded and followed up on. You will lead the production of monthly reports ensuring they are produced on time and accurately each month, including the Business Performance Review, Operational Performance Review, and SMT People Report. Additionally, you will provide business insights around key people metrics for People Partners by utilising investigative data analysis and manipulating people data to provide visualisations of trends and patterns.

Key accountabilities:
- Develops and maintains activity and project plans, and tracks completion with People Partners ensuring they are aware of and delivering to deadlines. You will interface with the People Solutions team, ensuring transparency on activities being delivered within the business units.
- Leads the production of monthly reports and continually develop these to ensure best practice and develop further insights on people performance.
- Works with People Partners and Contract Managers to identify and provide requests for data, information, and reports in line with required timeframes.
- Supports communication with line managers on HR activities and acts as communications champion supporting wider business unit communication activities.
- Support the HR team through the annual pay review cycle, collating input from each business area and supporting any calibration or review processes in the business unit.
- Supports the delivery of the annual engagement survey and tracks actions across the end-to-end survey cycle and delivers reports and insights on results.
- Occasional travel to attend meetings and/or events, as well as ad hoc site visits to J&I, Defence and Health contracts.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word. Advanced knowledge of Excel and data visualisation tools.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with people at all levels both internally and externally.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to deliver outcomes.
- Knowledge of HRIS/SAP systems, SAP Analytics Cloud, and Power BI would be advantageous.
