Information Assurance Security Manager

Cheltenham Contract based on site

Day Rate: £550-£650 inside IR35

We're currently seeking an ambitious Information Assurance Security Managers to work with our exceptional client in a secure environment, supporting challenging and highly rewarding projects.

This contract role will require you to conduct security clearance prior to assignment. The contract is based onsite.

The Information Assurance Security Manager is a member of the business unit/mission area who acts as the primary risk management point of contact, acting as the liaison between the business area and key stakeholders in relation to IA and risk management issues. The primary aim is to help those developing systems to understand the Information Security, Legal and Policy risks and to identify suitable mitigations within, and related to, the relevant Frameworks, working with the wider risk management community as necessary.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

* Providing impartial IA advice, risk assessing more complex or non-standard systems and acting as a liaison between the business area and key stakeholders in relation to IA and Risk Management issues.

* Ensuring ongoing engagement with Framework Stakeholders, providing timely, concise information regarding status and progress of relevant security, legal or policy risks, issues and actions, covering the complete lifecycle of a system.

* Co-ordinating, authorising, delegating and performing a range of 'Through Life' end-to-end lifecycle assurance requirements covering a diverse range of capabilities, systems and services, as defined by the Framework Support Group.

* Providing appropriate IRM support, advice and guidance to the relevant business management teams, engineers and user communities regarding all aspects of framework IRM relating to security, legal and policy.

* Pro-actively assessing, managing, maintaining and challenging (if appropriate) business and IRM/security related policies, processes, proposals and procedures, as well as any proposed system changes, balancing these against desired business outcomes.

* Informing key business stakeholders of new IRM and Security Policies, Standards, Guidelines and initiatives that may affect the business area, potentially impacting missions, operations, programmes and projects.

* Ensuring that the IRM Framework Documentation is complete and accurate.

* Ensuring relevant IT Security Policies are followed and any exceptions are escalated appropriately.

* Documenting which systems are accessed by supplier PU personnel.

* Acting as the primary Lifecycle Manager for PU accounts and routinely reviews each PU holder to determine if they still require PU access.

* Contributing to the wider IASM community, including support to the technical development of less experienced IASMs. This includes contribution to the skills assessment process as necessary.

Person Specification

* Ability to advice on the application of technical and process controls to mitigate IA risk

Your new company
You will be working for HMP Eastwood Park, located in Wotton-under-edge, as a Security Officer at HMP Eastwood Park, which is a local prison holding sentenced prisoners. It is a Women's closed prison and has a capacity of around 450 prisoners.
Your new role
We have an exciting new project coming up and are looking for 10 security officers to assist with contractors on site. Working as a Security Officer, you will be working alongside the operational security team. You will be responsible for escorting/assisting contractors as they carry out maintenance work around the prison, visitor checks, toolkit checks, main gate duties and vehicle searches. You will assist with the safety of visitors around the site and ensure no unauthorised items enter the site.
This role is 37-hours per week. It is a temporary contract which is a minimum of 3 months on a rolling basis and dependent on how long the project is for and how long the contractors take.
Rate (inclusive of holidays): £13.10 per hour with the opportunity for overtime as and when required.Overtime is paid at an enhanced rate of pay.Due to the location of this vacancy, you will need a vehicle, as there is limited public transport.

You will not require previous experience as you will receive full on the job training. You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be required to provide 2 satisfactory references and will be subject to full prison clearance.

* Procurement of IT assets, including raising requisitions and liaising with core suppliers and Commercial colleagues.

The role
As a Security Officer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The security team ensures our premises are secure and continue to operate allowing our wider team to deliver projects and support services. Our engineering is lauded by many, however without a successful support team creating the environment to succeed we cannot be as successful as we are.

Day to day, you'll:

• Secure the premises with regular patrolling of property; monitor surveillance equipment; inspect buildings, equipment, and access points; permit entry if required
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform staff and visitors of policy and procedures; deter trespassers
• Compile reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
• Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers

This role is full-time and will be based onsite in Tewkesbury. The role will be conducted on a shift pattern which will consists of twelve hour shifts, four days on and four days off.

Essential experience of the Security Officer:

• Thinking and reasoning skills for dealing with emergencies
• Concentration and diligence skills to stay alert and aware of your surroundings.
• Customer service skills for challenging people politely but firmly
• Excellent verbal communication and negotiating skills.
• Able to conduct tasks on computer or hand-held device.

Qualifications for the Security Officer:

Relevant qualifications desirable, but not essential i.e., BTEC Level 3 Security Management or SIA
