Job Description
As a Senior Legal Adviser, you are expected to undertake the following activities and tasks:
- Provide legal advice regarding real estate investment laws, establishment of business, business operations and general corporate compliance matters in Thailand along with working with counsel in other jurisdictions in ASEAN on real estate and hospitality laws and regulations.
- Prepare applications and supporting documents for submission to the relevant governmental agencies (Department of Lands, Ministry of Commerce, Board of Investment, Immigration Office and others) with our corporate team.
- Liaise with the relevant governmental agencies for the purpose of preparation of applications and post-submission follow-up; coordination with the team and client regarding application progress.
- Review and comment on contracts, including but not limited to, construction contracts, lease agreements, sale and purchase contracts, hotel management agreements, joint venture agreements, and shareholders’ agreements.
- Research and investigate with governmental agencies on corporate and compliance matters relating to real estate and licensing for real estate business.
- Provide any other general legal assistance to other lawyers and teams and perform other tasks associated with the foregoing.
Essential skills & experience:
- Bachelor degree of laws (LL.B.) and preferably a Master of laws (LL.M.)
- 5 years’ experience with international law firm or multinational company
- Proficient in both spoken and written English
- Strong practical knowledge of the Thai legal system
- Able to work under pressure and time constraint
- Be enthusiastic person and effective team member
- Position will be based in Bangkok and may require occasional both within and outside Thailand.
