The role of a Pre-Construction Manager

I am looking to speak with experienced Pre-Construction professionals who can engage at the front end of the business taking responsibility for the management of the estimating team, incoming tender quality, tender recommendation and technical support that will inform the basis of the operational business need. You will report directly to the Managing Director and manage the complete tender process across multiple projects, adding value and experience to the estimating teams and ensuring the key project needs are captured to allow the accurate costing and risk appraisal.


Duties of a Pre-Construction Manager

• Manage and coordinate the Pre-Construction activities of either traditional or design and build projects once awarded, with responsibility for managing the Pre-Construction process from tender issue through to handover to the operational team.

• Work collaboratively with the members of the Pre-Construction team, inclusive of governance, commercial, estimating, planning, and design management to ensure milestones are identified, monitored, and achieved to successfully complete the Pre-Construction process.

• Attend site visits to view the project during the Pre-Construction stage and engage with designers and supply chain partners as necessary to inform the detailed design and pricing process.

• Technical input regarding groundworks, temporary works, building superstructure, internal fit out and coordination of the tender return.

• Support for the estimating team to collate and produce a technical query schedule.

• The ability to manage a team and contribute to the senior leadership team calendar of any findings, lessons learnt and efficiency's.

Requirements of a Pre-Construction Manager

• A relevant industry qualification at HNC or above in Construction.
• Full valid UK driving licence.
• Proficiency in programming software and development of literature to clearly articulate the delivery strategy at pre-construction phase.
• Great organisational skills, capable of delivering multiple projects at any one time.

Our superb client in the Property Damage Restoration sector is seeking a number of Trainee Restoration Technicians owing to business growth. Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm covering the Midlands part of the UK UK. It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points on licence) and your own transport to be considered for the role.

As a Trainee Restoration Technician, you will be involved in the restoration of commercial and some residential properties following events such as fire or flooding. You will be responsible for stripping out properties of their fixtures and fittings following water / fire damage, setting up equipment to begin and complete the drying out process so that the property can be restored back to full use. You will attend team meetings and will be required to travel extensively and stay away from home regularly during the week and when required in fully expensed accommodation with a meal allowance.

To be considered for the role of Trainee Restoration Technician , you will have previous experience in a similar damage restoration or construction labouring position where you have worked extensive with building materials, you will have manual dexterity, pc literate and a good level of general education. You will have excellent communication skills along with empathy and customer service skills. You must be able to work away from home on a regular basis and sometimes at short notice.

As Utilities construction manager you will be Responsible for a geographical area of works, ensuring a fully compliant system of work for the delivery of all Contestable Utility Diversions and Connections to time, quality and budget.

You will work closely with the Designer, Statutory undertaker, Construction team stakeholders and HS2 to deliver utility designs to ensure fully coordinated proposals are delivered.

Produce information that supports the ‘Utilities Process Coordinator’ through the delivery of C4 -C9 NRSWA process and HS2 requirements and ensure compliance with the contract. You will be expected to Integrate with the area Construction teams to deliver all aspects of the allocated Contestable utility scope, including potential growth in scope.
Responsible to produce routine progress reports to the Utilities Project Manager and Construction teams.

Lead key meetings with internal and external stakeholders, recording, writing and communicating actions and key points.
Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure best practice is always integrated at the local level.

Notify Supply Chain partners, Statutory Undertakers and other relevant project partners in accordance with the programme of works required.
Identify General Communication and Early Warnings to mitigate risks, issues and enable the realisation of opportunities.

About The Candidate

- Degree level qualification in either project management, commercial management, civil engineering or the equivalent experience.
