Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Based: Preston office; flexible working between the office, site and some home working. Sites will be throughout the North from Lancashire to Cumrbia - Typically working 08:30 – 17:00 Monday – Friday

Within our Social Housing Planned works programs and Voids, you will work both from home/office and on site, collaborating with your team in an environment that is inclusive and fair for everyone. Work streams will include both internal and external programmes, such as Kitchen, Bathroom and Void schemes
You will be commercially focused to ensure we obtain and evaluate information to guarantee a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated Repairs and Refurbishment Projects. Whilst liaising with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.

An outline of your responsibility as a Assistant Quantity surveyor
Supporting in -
Monthly CVR preparation
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
Ensure all invoices submitted accurately and for certified value to ensure payments are received on time.
Support your team to value and authorise payments to sub-contractors within the region
Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements.
Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and or Clients/Customers when necessary, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
Support the team with monitoring the contract progress, assess, and report any changes that may affect project costs and or time scale.
Assist in the control of contract budgets.
Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
About You
You will have experience of working as a Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the Construction industry and refurbishments it’s a distinct advantage if you have an understanding of the Social Housing planned works sector, which will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team. Applicants will ideally have a couple of years experience of managing their own workload/contracts, knowledge of the CVR process and schedules of rates. Applicants will also have strong commercial acumen, excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. You will be an expert with IT with proficient MS office skills. You also must hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must with this role.
