Base Location: Flexible UK | we're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK.

As Design and Estimating Manager you will be tasked with ensuring engineering practice and capability is mirrored in the design and estimating process of building management systems. This will involve collaboration with the Sales Directors and Business Managers to improve both the technical capability of the projects sales team as well as provide a central estimating function which can be used in support of the regional sales process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring design and estimating decisions maximise the benefits of new and emerging products and technologies.
- Overseeing the technical training requirements of our Sales Development Programme.
- Developing a centrally managed, regionally distributed, estimating function.
- Managing the timely output of technical proposals to agreed service levels.
- Working with strategic partners to evaluate the benefits of new products as well as supporting the business in the functional development of its estimating tools.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Previous experience in an estimating or design focused role within the BEMS industry.
- In depth technical understanding of Buildings Controls System, as well as the ability to engage in technical discussions in a clear and easily understood manner.
- The desire to develop the technical competence of new and existing salespeople.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure a collaborative approach to working with all stakeholders, including customers and external service providers.
- Due to travel to and from sites, a Driving License will be required.
