Ensures analysis methodology is in accordance with established standards and procedures and that results provide accurate data and information required to establish effective Maintenance Requirements Lists. Executes Coast Guard Maintenance Effectiveness Review (CG MER) programs adhering to RCM principles in all activities.

Oversees selection of appropriate candidate systems for the CG MER process, manages efforts to plan, execute, analyze results and use resulting data to effect improvements in system maintenance and ensure publishing of Maintenance Requirements Lists consistent with Reliability Centered Maintenance principles.
Coordinate and conduct technical investigations, such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) or statistical analysis of deficiencies for systems or components and maintenance practices. Evaluate alternative corrective measures using business-case analysis by considering technology, system requirements, and economics. These types of projects often require the incumbent to review, evaluate and advise on the effectiveness, technical adequacy and suitability of work and proposals of others. Implement and manage remedial actions that are the outcome of failure analyses.

Act as technical advisor to other SFLC divisions, branches and sections, other Coast Guard organizations, and consults in all areas of responsibility.

Coordinates reviews with Program Depot Maintenance Sections of each Product Line and its associated depot maintenance agents for maintenance engineering and improvement issues, and program changes.

Works closely with the Product Lines' Engineering Branches, Projects Sections and field activities to analyze and define RCM actions and support Condition Based Maintenance efforts required to achieve established management objectives and milestones.
