Spurgeons is one of the UK's leading children's charities, firmly supported by Christian beliefs and values, helping to support vulnerable children and their families. We deliver projects to support children, young people, their families, and communities to find long-lasting solutions to the challenges they face. We are passionate about the work we do and need equally committed members on our team to help us achieve those goals.
ABOUT US
Our dynamic and committed team spearheads cutting-edge interventions and pioneering initiatives centred on rehabilitation, support, and empowerment. We're deeply dedicated to delivering impactful interventions both within prisons and in the community. With a proud legacy of transformative initiatives, Spurgeons Prison Services leads the charge in pioneering programmes aimed at breaking cycles of reoffending and fostering successful reintegration into society.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Family Intervention Worker. In this pivotal role, you will forge impactful partnerships with services both within prisons and local communities, playing a key part in transforming the lives of fathers due for release in the Southampton, Portsmouth, and Hampshire areas. You will collaborate with a diverse range of partners, including probation, education, and family hubs, to develop innovative services for prisoners and their families, ensuring seamless support from custody to community reintegration. As a leader of multi-agency Family Resettlement Meetings, you will coordinate efforts to provide comprehensive resettlement planning and support, making a tangible difference in the lives of families. Managing a small caseload, you will engage directly with families, ensuring the needs of children are met through home and community visits. You will be the beacon of safeguarding best practices, working closely with prison staff and adhering to strict security policies. Your role will be crucial in shaping the development of family hub models and contributing to Spurgeons’ strategy for family-focused resettlement services. By ensuring our services are child-centred, customer-focused, and inclusive, you will help create a positive and lasting impact. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated team player who thrives in challenging environments, excels at problem-solving, and is eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of our services. Join us and be part of a team dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of children and families.
ABOUT YOU
You are a passionate professional with a qualification and specialist experience in family services, probation, justice, or a related field. Your career is marked by continuous professional development, ensuring you stay at the forefront of best practices and emerging trends. Ideally, you have experience working with fathers and families, particularly in challenging environments where your ability to support vulnerable adults and children shines. Your exceptional casework skills are complemented by your knack for maintaining accurate, timely records and producing detailed reports. You thrive in multi-agency partnership settings, coordinating and facilitating meetings with ease, and leveraging your excellent communication skills to build strong relationships. Your organisational skills and attention to detail are second to none, enabling you to analyse data, interpret findings, and share insights effectively. Proficient in IT, you utilise word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and email to support your work. You remain calm and adaptable in dynamic situations, prioritising tasks with precision.
