This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join the newly developed Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (FIND) Community Team in South London and Maudsley (SLaM).

The FIND Team will provide safe transition for inpatients discharged from the inpatient Forensic Services to the community providing specialist assessment, treatment and consultation to the Forensic Service in order to ensure a smooth, safe and clinically justified pathway to individuals with mental illness, offending history and learning disability with or without neurodevelopmental disorder.

The three forensic services of SLaM, South West London and St Georges( SWLSTG), and Oxleas together comprise the South London Mental Health and Community Partnership (SLP). The SLP’s overarching goals centre on bringing care closer to home, improving patient pathways and outcomes by delivering excellent care in better environments. The SLP has a track record of delivering highly effective, clinically informed service developments in order to better meet the needs of service-users. The FIND provision is one such development and the SLaM FIND Team will therefore work closely with the FIND Teams in each of the other Trusts in order to expedite service-user’s transition through inpatient settings to community provision.

The post-holder will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients of the FIND service. The postholder will assist the Practitioner Psychologists, in the delivery of a specialist applied psychology service, including the provision of clinical work as required by the service, under the direct guidance, close clinical and professional supervision of a practitioner psychologist.

Clinical work is likely to involve carrying out psychological assessments, including risk assessments, and circumscribed individual interventions, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.

The post-holders will support and facilitate the provision of psycho-educational and mental health and offending behaviour groups, assist in clinically-related administration, the conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

More generally, the postholder will assist the psychologists and other members of the multidisciplinary team in developing a therapeutic environment for clients of the FIND service. The postholder will work following clinical guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.

KR 1 Clinical and Client Care

· To provide psychological assessments for clients the FIND Service under the close supervision of a practitioner psychologist includingPsychometric Assessments, Risk Assessments, Behavioural Assessments, Needs Assessments.

· To provide protocol-based individual psychological interventions for clients of the FIND Service.

· To arrange, schedule, and provide protocol-based group psychological interventions for clients of the FIND Service.

· To assist the psychologists in the development of individual or group clinical materials or training materials.

KR 2 Contributing to team or service clinical functioning

· To contribute to the effective working of the FIND Service by contributing to the training and support of other staff in developing and providing psychological care of clients.

The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) are designed to help meet mild to moderate mental health needs of children and young people in education settings. They are made up of senior clinicians, CAMHS Practitioners and Education Wellbeing Practitioners (EWPs). They will be based across education settings as an additional resource within a whole-system approach to promote resilience and wellbeing, support earlier intervention, enable appropriate signposting and deliver evidence-based support, care and interventions.

The MHST will partner with their education settings to design a bespoke
offer, based on the school’s individual needs and will work with the mental health services that are already in place, such as counselling,
educational psychology, school nurses, pastoral care, educational welfare officers, VCSEs, the local authority, including children’s social care, and
NHS Children and Young People Mental Health Services (CYPMHS).

Our MHST currently works with 15 schools across Croydon. The successful candidate will be employed by Croydon CAMHS and will be expected to liaise with CAMHS teams when appropriate. The MHST deliver emotional wellbeing interventions using Guided Self Help strategies.

As an qualified EWP you will have successfully completed training as a traineeEMHP/CWP. You will be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and capabilities to work as a qualified EMHP/CWP, as an autonomous and responsible practitioner within your scope of practice, alongside education and health colleagues.

You will be confident in providing manualised 1-1 and group interventions based on Guided Self Help with young people and families in anxiety, low mood and behaviours that challenge.

You are expected to liaise and work effectively with the wider network around the child including educational, social care, family and health.

Improve access to mental health and wellbeing support, working with cultural diverse populations and adapting services to improve access.







CroydonMHST is a friendly and supportive team who have developed a close partnership with local schools in providing low
intensity interventions, creating workshops and groups and adapting services to meet the needs of schools, young people and families in
Croydon in line with CYP-IAPT principles.

There is a requirement to work with schools remotely and face to face in delivering low level Guided Self Help to Young People and Families. This will be across various educational settings within the Croydon wave 1 school cluster, remote working from home and Croydon CAMHS.

EWPs play a key role as members of the Mental Health Support Team, who will have the responsibility for delivering schools' whole school approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing for children and young people.

FIND Team

· To provide Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) assessment and intervention to service users who have a variety of complex communication and/or swallowing needs. This will include adults with Learning disability, Autism and/or mental health conditions or behaviours that challenge.

· To maintain a clear understanding of the patients who are placed in secure and specialist services throughout the SLP partnership by acting as a point of contact to attend CPAs, assertively manage discharge pathways and reduce risk of delayed discharge.

· To participate in monitoring and reviewing of patients who are in conditions of medium and low security within the SLP as well as out of area. · The post holder must be able to demonstrate their ability to carry out comprehensive social care needs assessments, liaising closely with other health providers, placement providers and other key stakeholders.

· To support and develop step down pathways, with personalised packages of care which support and build on people’s strengths, and secure timely discharges.

· To work with the Community Care Coordinators to facilitate transfer from out of borough service provision, liaising with local health care and commissioning teams, negotiating between different directorates.

· The post holder must be a dedicated, organised and experienced practitioner with previous experience of working in housing management desirable. They must be able to communicate well with a range of people utilising a collaborative approach, and with a strong interest in delivering more personalised outcomes for people with highly complex needs.

· The post holder must be adept at prioritising the activities that will provide the most efficient, effective and safe step down or discharge pathway and escalate any conditions that will prevent this from happening

· The post holder will be responsible for the development and monitoring of the assigned care pathway quality and improvement plans, alongside the development of project specific policies and procedures with other senior members of the MDT.

Croydon CAMHS are looking to recruit a Principal Family and Systemic Family and Systemic Psychotherapist. This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead within a highly skilled, friendly and supportive service.

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Systemic Family Psychotherapist who is passionate about working with children and young people. Applicants must be keen to develop collaborative approaches and support the commitment of Croydon CAMHS to continually improve access to services for all community groups.

The successful applicant with provide leadership to the wider service and ensure the systemic provision of a highly specialist family and systemic psychotherapy service.

Croydon CAMHS works closely with Kings and IoPPN to provide learning opportunities to systemic Practitioners and Psychotherapists and there are opportunists to provide additional training clinics, teaching and supervision.

Main Duties:

To be responsible for the provision of a Systemic Psychotherapy service at a highly specialist level within the mental health CAMHS team within the context of existing multi professional teamwork.

This post sits in the wider service of Croydon CAMHS, providing support and consultation across all teams, however the successful applicant will share leadership responsibilities with senior peers within the Treating Team.

To provide highly specialist assessment and clinical formulation to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs. To think creatively, work flexibly and have a range of clinical skills in working alongside others to support a complex range of service users and their network.

Although the successful applicant with sit across the whole of Croydon CAMHS, the postholder will share leadership responsibilities within the Croydon CAMHS Treating Team. Work with peers to ensure visible representation of systemic discipline and provide consultation. Support in chairing multidisciplinary meetings, and participate in child protection case conferences and reviews, etc. providing professional advice on individual care programme planning and other clinical matters as necessary. “First for Mental Health NHS 111 Press 2” (NHS111 MH) is a nationally mandated programme overseen by NHS England. Locally, this is being delivered via the South London Partnership collaboration (SLP – Oxleas, South West London and St Georges and SLaM) with SLaM as the lead provider on behalf of the SLP. The South London model will be co-ordinated through a single hub which will receive calls and triage appropriately. The hub will provide a 24/7, all-age service for people who need advice and support with a mental health need.

The hub will be able to refer directly into secondary care services for those who need an urgent assessment e.g. Local Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Teams. The numerous benefits of NHS 111MH includes, fewer 999 (immediate suicide risk) calls to the ambulance dispatch queue, a reduction in A&E attendances for those that are seeking help with a mental health need, fewer referrals to primary care and a large proportion of calls now able to be triaged and managed over the telephone, saving time for patients and staff. As well as the new 111 press 2 service we have the opportunity to serve a pilot initiative as part of this hub, this is a joint NHS and Metropolitan Police Service pilot looking at alternatives to the use of Section 136 across London

The Mental Health Clinical Assessment Unit (MHCAU) is a service created in response to the Covid-19 crisis and ongoing emergency department pressures for the local population of Croydon. The unit is staffed primarily by the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) unit-based staff and the SLaM psychiatric liaison team.

The service consists of a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses and lived experience staff. The service has been created to relieve pressure on the Emergency Department (ED) at Croydon University Hospital and to assist in providing capacity for a surge in emergency medical cases caused by Covid-19. This is achieved by providing a diversionary assessment space for patients with mental health problems who would otherwise have been seen in the ED but have no concurrent acute physical health concern.

This area will provide collaborative and timely care to patients requiring mental health care and treatment, in line with National emergency care access standards.
