As Assistant Store Manager here at H. Samuel in Poole you'll join the team in a store within the local area.

You’ll support our Store Manager in achieving the store’s targets through promoting the sales culture instore, building and inspiring a strong customer-first team and by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You’ll be passionate about role modelling your selling skills, coaching and inspiring your team through great leadership and adopting a proactive approach to sales management.

About the Job

• Working in a DevOps environment supporting continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD pipelines)
• Troubleshooting Incidents and provide technical expertise and insight on a 3rd line support basis for online trading systems and connecting integrations
• Perform engineering tasks on Signet UK owned online trading systems.
• Advise and direct 3rd parties who provide support and/or engineering services for UK managed online trading systems.
• Supporting the monitoring processes, identifying vulnerabilities and issues, proactively optimizing and implementing alert configurations.

APPRENTICE SALES ASSOCIATE

What does it take to be a great Apprentice Sales Associate?

Our store teams are made up of customer-first people with a real passion for outstanding service, creating amazing experiences and lasting memories for our customers. Our team members work hard to develop outstanding product knowledge and real jewellery expertise that they can share with our customers.

As an Apprentice Sales Associate you’ll become a committed and dedicated member of the team, you’ll play a key role in helping the store to maintain performance and meet sales targets. As new products are introduced in store, you will build your knowledge and develop your skills in customer service to ensure that you can deal with every type of customer enquiry.

Your Background

If you would like to be a part of our amazing team, you’ll have a passion for delivering amazing customer service. While you may not specifically have jewellery experience, you will certainly have an interest in jewellery products and brands. A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude is essential, with a natural ability for striking up a conversation with a diverse range of customers.

Your Training

As an Apprentice Sales Associate you will undergo ‘Introductory and Silver’ levels of our formal ‘Signet Jewellery Academy’ training and development programme. You will also complete an Intermediate Retail Skills Apprenticeship with Technical Certificate and Key Skills. An experienced mentor will be on hand to support you for the duration of your Apprenticeship.

Your Rewards

We offer a training salary of £7.00 per hour, plus benefits, including sales incentives and staff discount. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

Store Manager – H. Samuel – Portsmouth

As Store Manager here at H. Samuel in Portsmouth you’ll be responsible for achieving the store’s targets through promoting the sales culture instore, building and inspiring a strong customer-first team and by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You’ll be passionate about role modelling your selling skills, coaching and inspiring your team through great leadership and adopting a proactive approach to sales management.

You’ll also be responsible for consistent compliance with company instructions, policies and processes and will be responsible for control of costs, payroll, shrinkage and expenses for the store. You’ll also oversee the planning and organisation of operational activities within the store.

Security Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Security Engineer. Reporting to our IT Security and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and managing security controls to ensure compliance with key legislative standards like SOx, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001. In this role, you'll work hands-on with various technologies to maintain a strong security posture while supporting regular audits and compliance activities across the organisation.

About the Job

• Implement and test security alerts and controls, resolving any issues that threaten compliance.
• Manage changes to administrative processes and IT documentation to meet data security standards.
• Deploy and update IT security software and hardware (e.g., Active Directory, endpoint security, role management).
• Assist in regular compliance audits, reviews, and testing, including SOx, PCI-DSS, and GDPR assessments.
• Oversee third-party suppliers to ensure they adhere to security and compliance responsibilities.
• Participate in forums like the Design Review Group to ensure security considerations are embedded in projects.
• Contribute to other IT initiatives, supporting team goals.

Are You the Perfect Gem?

We’re looking for a candidate who has:

• Strong skills in Windows server and desktop management, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
• A background in IT technical delivery (e.g., an experienced and adaptable support engineer).
• Excellent communication skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
• A “can do” attitude with the willingness to support issues beyond core competencies.
• The ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
• An analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Experience with security principles, particularly related to Active Directory and infrastructure management.
• Exposure to security & risk assessment technologies (e.g., penetration testing, IPS, IDS, DLP, WAF).
• Familiarity with policy and procedure development and implementation.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM (desirable but not essential).
• Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery (advantageous).
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as PCI, ISO27001, DPA, and SOX (advantageous).
