Saga Travel Group are looking for 3-month FTC for our Finance Manager who is being seconded to a new system implementation project.
It’s a great opportunity, an instant start, for a fully qualified or part qualified Finance Manager who could make an impact across the business.
In this role you will oversee and manage all financial reporting and control activities for the Saga Travel Group (STG). This is an output focussed role, with no line manager responsibilities.

** This is a FTC for 3 months. You can mostly work from home, your main working hub will be Ashford, Kent. Ideally you will visit your hub once a week to meet your team. You will need to be within reasonable commuting distance to our Ashford Hub. Free Car Parking on site.

Main ResponsibilitiesYou’ll be covering our current Finance Manager who will be on hand to offer a hand over into the role. You will be required to cover the following areas;
- All financial reporting for the business, including statutory accounts, overheads and shareholder reporting
- Presentation of the above to various stakeholders (Exco, FMT, FLT)
- Management of the month end process end-to-end ensuring all ledger entries are accurate
- Balance sheet reconciliations and monthly variance analysis
- Management of external reporting compliance, including banking covenants, CAA and ABTA
- Management of trust account relationship and reconciliation of trust account position and advance receipts
- Reviewing and submission of all tax compliance (CT, VAT)
- Audit management (internal and external)
- Overheads cost control
- Maintaining an effective control environment supported by processes and systems to safeguard the company’s assets and reduce risk
- Development of systems to improve the production efficiency of those accounts
- Provide support to the other areas of finance as required, but particularly during busy times
- Continual analysis and improvement of finance processes
- Ad-hoc projects and other data analysis as required
The Ideal CandidateWe need the Finance Manager covering this role to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
- Hold a professional finance qualification
- Have up to date IFRS knowledge
- Be a competent user of Finance Systems - Dream / Workday preferable
- Advanced excel skills
- Experience in a Travel/ Tour Operations setting preferable
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills
- Be organised and methodical and able to complete tight deadlines
- Can work in a task focused environment
