SALARY: $38,313.00- $45,069.00 Annually
EDUCATION ACCREDITATION: Applicant’s education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency. Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.org.
ELIGIBILITY: Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to this position identified as positions of trust will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a Fingerprint check.
PROBATION: All persons, including current City employees, selected from this position will be on probation for 6 months.
CLASS DEFINITION
A Storekeeper II assigns and reviews the work of stores and laboring personnel. Work of this class involves leading warehouse staff but does not involve full supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in a warehouse where there is exposure to cold and heat. Work requires some bending, lifting, pushing, and hauling heavy stock items.
SELECTION PROCESS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
EDUCATION: Have graduated from an accredited high school or possess a GED certification.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have two (2) years of experience in storing and issuing equipment and supplies.
OR
EQUIVALENCIES: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:
Some positions in this class may require a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the procedures for receiving, storing and shipping materials and supplies.
- Knowledge of the methods and procedures of taking inventory.
- Ability to operate materials handling equipment.
- Ability to utilize standard business computer software programs and the internet to perform routine research and to enter and maintain inventory and distribution of records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, City agency personnel and associates.
- Ability to maintain simple stock records.
- Ability to assign and review the work of others.
