POSITION SUMMARY

The ER Patient Registration Representative accurately enters all our patients into Marshall Medical Center (MMC) for treatment, ensuring each patient is comfortable and safe, as they undergo the admission process.  This position delivers a caring and professional first impression of MMC. This position collects complete and accurate demographic and financial information regarding a patient’s admission in order to facilitate patient service and reimbursement.  This position must understand and adhere to an ever-changing myriad of federal and state regulations regarding patient consent, release of information (ROI), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal, State and Private Insurance reimbursement requirements.  This position interacts with patients, physicians, nursing, ancillary members and support staff on a daily basis in the course of their work.  This position covers switchboard duties when assigned. This position facilitates the communication of emergency situations with an overhead page, radio communication and/or electronic page. Maintains the fire alarm system for MMC whenever assigned to PBX duties.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Advocate functions in an observational/assisting capacity for patients who are at risk to cause injury to themselves or others.  Provides services to meet the personal care, assistive, psychosocial and safety needs of assigned patients.  Engages fully with each patient, providing a significant level of care and interaction, continually observing and maintaining patient safety.  The Safety Advocate shall also contribute towards providing a secure and safe environment that allows patients, visitors, physicians, personnel and volunteers to deliver or receive quality services with minimal threats against their personal well-being and property. POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Director acts as the lead representative for the organization’s Facility Management section. Has 24/7 accountability for the Construction and Engineering department. Has overall responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of all buildings and grounds that are own and/or operated by Marshall Medical Center.

Plans, organizes, and executes construction project management efforts related to the development of new buildings, major and minor renovation of infrastructure and support facilities of the hospital and other organization campuses. Responsible for plant operations and equipment maintenance, facilities and grounds maintenance; and Hazardous Materials and Waste program (including the Asbestos Management Program), Supports the Space Management Committee, which manages the space use allocations for the organization. Assumes financial responsibilities for the departments including department budgets and Construction in Progress (CIP) budget preparation and reconciliation for the organization.

Responsible for the Life Safety, Utilities Management and Fire Prevention programs in compliance with the Joint Commission and Environment of Care standards.

The In-House Counsel (Counsel) is responsible for managing the many and varied legal affairs of Marshall Medical Center (Marshall). The Counsel areas of focus are a range of legal issues arising at Marshall including regulatory and reimbursement issues, fraud and abuse issues, and risk management. This position will retain and manage outside counsel oversee the Risk Management and Contract Departments. In conjunction with senior leadership, the Counsel establishes legal policies for the organizations, strengthens governance processes, and ensures compliance with internal and external requirements. The In-House Counsel advises and collaborates with senior management to protect the legal interests of Marshall while helping to drive initiatives and business progress within the organization.

• Active State Bar licensure, registration as in-house counsel, or equivalent acceptable status for California. If not active in California will seek to become admitted in California within twelve (12) months of hire.

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs various chemical, microscopic, microbiological and hematological tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.  Records laboratory test data, patient and quality control information.  Is actively involved in quality control procedures, review and corrective action and maintains care of expensive laboratory equipment and instruments and judicious use of materials.  Assists in training new lab personnel, externs and students and carefully handles infectious material to protect all laboratory personnel.  Utilizes knowledge of human physiology and science to evaluate test results for accuracy.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required.

Skills:

• Ability to work well with other people in times of medical emergencies and in a fast-paced, heavy workload environment; form perception required to see detail of specimens under microscopic study.

• Color discrimination required to stain slides and to distinguish various shades and colors of specimens; near-visual acuity required to read detailed instructions and to examine specimens; finger and manual dexterity required to handle specimens and small pieces of laboratory equipment.
