About The Role
Do you recognise adolescence as a difficult time? Do you have empathy for young people who struggle to navigate the changes? If so, we want to hear from you.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Team Manager at our Bristol Foyer – supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25. We take a strength based approach, called Advantaged Thinking, in all the work we do; encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big and fulfil their ambitions.
You will motivate colleagues to be their best; to meet targets and standards; to go the extra mile for young people. We are looking for someone who really cares about the Service, about young people, and who understands the impact of trauma, and how to respond to contextual harm. You will support our practitioners to be resilient and persistent; be solution-focussed; look past challenging behaviours; build positive relationships with young people and those that work with them, and to inspire young people to reach their potential.
You will be responsible for the delivery and outcomes of a highly effective and impactful team; delivering high quality services for young people in need of supported accommodation and support services.
Every day is different; you could be delivering colleague supervision, reviewing a risk assessment, supporting a young person, contributing to a multi-agency meeting or supporting group activities as part of the learning programme.
We want you to be able to bring your own personality. Our young people come from a wide range of backgrounds and we try to mirror that in our staff team.
This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week and may include bank holidays. Bandwidth hours will be 8 am to 10 pm. You will predominantly work on scheme, Monday to Friday with a flexible approach to hours as team members will work shifts including nights and weekends.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups, and expect all colleagues to share this commitment. Appointment to the post will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
