We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of driving technological excellence and operational efficiency.
The Senior SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our on-premise and cloud based SQL databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, experience with Azure SQL, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed individual to join the Database Administration Team to provide professional expertise ensuring the Trust's Microsoft SQL estate is reliable, resilient and secure.

The post holder will be responsible for providing professional technical expertise to ensure LSCFT’s Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL database environments are reliable, resilient and secure. Administering, maintaining and supporting both on-prem and cloud based SQL Databases and servers. Monitoring database performance, implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required. Managing database security, backups and recovery processes. Identifying and resolving performance issues in both on-prem and cloud based databases. Optimising queries, indexes and database configuration for maximum efficiency. Conducting regular performance tuning and capacity planning. Implementing and maintaining database security measures to protect sensitive data. Ensuring compliance with data governance and NHS regulatory requirements. Performing regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Developing and maintaining automation scripts for database administration tasks. Utilising tools and technologies to automate routine database maintenance and monitoring. Designing and implementing disaster recovery plans. Conducting regular testing of backup and recovery procedures.
The individual will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Work closely with development and IT teams to support application development and deployment. Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholder.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
