This is a full-time, year-round position on second shift.
This important role is responsible for protecting L.L.Bean employees, facilities, and physical assets (including the LLB Brand). They perform all aspects of the Central Security function including communicating and coordinating emergency responses, as well as monitoring facilities and grounds to protect property and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. The Security Monitoring & Dispatch Officer performs the function of a Security Officer and Emergency First Responder as required. They also act as the single point of contact for all incoming routine and emergency calls, both internal and external. This individual will direct all security-based patrol activities across the company and its facilities on a continual 24x7x365 schedule.
Responsibilities
- Directs the response to emergency or crisis situations and acts as liaison when necessary, which may involve the health and safety of both internal and external customers.
- Monitors and appropriately responds to the Emergency Alert System (EAS) for an Active Shooter Event according to established operating procedures, encompassing all aspects of the Central Officer position.
- Monitors the company emergency line and determines and executes appropriate actions.
- Monitors all security alarms for company facilities and dispatches appropriate agencies as needed. This includes communicating and notifying L.L.Bean executives per established protocols.
- Monitors and controls access to facilities through the use of PC-based access control software.
- Monitors CCTV cameras, using local and PC-based remote monitoring software, for access requests; event coverage; and investigations surrounding suspicious activity, personal injury, threats of violence, harassment, property damage, potential theft, etc.; records images and sends appropriate response based on observations.
- Pages and submits appropriate work orders through Service Channel and Maintenance Connection for service personnel: Maintenance, Electrical, HVAC, and Custodial, etc.
- Keeps proper written documents to include daily logs, incident reports, and pass on.
- Coordinates activities and resources to initiate an emergency response. Resources can include local emergency response, Security members, Facilities Management and Safety.
- Provides Security Officer station coverage for breaks and absences. Directs, manages, and records mobile officer activities throughout the shift.
- Oversees the physical security and controls access by employees, contractors, vendors or visitors to all company facilities and manufacturing warehouses in the state of Maine. Permits authorized persons to enter the property and observes departing personnel to guard against thefts of company property.

Skills and Qualifications
- Must possess ability to learn and operate technical computer programs for CSI alarm system, EAS, S2, TLO, CCTV and Service Channel; as well as, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote and Teams.
- Demonstrated crisis management skills- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor while responding appropriately and multi-tasking in a high pace, potentially stressful environment.
- Must possess above average written and communication skills, and have an analytical approach to problem solving.
- Extremely responsible and able to work independently under limited supervision.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and respond to dynamic situations from incoming calls, alarms, granting access, and investigation requests while sending appropriate responses.
- Must be able to operate and interpret Sirius multi-gas and photo ionization meter for proper HazMat response.
- Must have demonstrated leadership skills and experience in negotiation, facilitation, communication, de-escalation, and group dynamics techniques.
- Expected to demonstrate a professional demeanor that is in line with the company’s brand, culture and shared values.
- Must have valid driver’s license and meet L.L.Bean’s Risk Management driver matrix.
- Must pass L.L.Bean background check and Stanton Integrity Survey.
- Must be able to work in a multi-shift environment.
- Schedule will include at least one weekend day.
