The Director, Commercial Planning and Governance - Asia Pacific (APAC) will work directly with the Vice President of Revenue Management and Commercial Services - APAC, responsible to manage and govern (where applicable) programs, projects, and have business oversight responsibility on behalf of the APAC Commercial Services Organization. These will include developing and maintaining solutions, business processes, standards, procedures, and best practices.
The Director, Commercial Planning & Governance - APAC will lead and be responsible for managing key relationships both internally / externally through planning cycles, cadence and governance. The Director will communicate at a Senior leadership level of the Commercial Services organization including all direct reports of the Senior Vice President & Commercial Director - APAC. This position will help facilitate priority regional team meetings and own its cadence to drive discussion, decision, and alignment. This position will manage and support the annual process of identification of Commercial priorities, tracking and completion thereof. This role will play a key role in steering and co-leading the company’s planning and governance processes in close liaison with peer colleagues in other parts of the business and regions. This is a central position to go to with cross-collaborative reach.
The Director, Commercial Planning and Governance - APAC will additionally oversee the leadership and governance of Sales Performance for APAC, ensuring our program in APAC is fit for purpose.
What will I be doing?
As the Director, Commercial Planning & Governance - APAC, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:
- Management / leadership of specific APAC Commercial Services Programs and Projects.
- Leading the co-ordination of yearly commercial program planning on behalf of the region.
- Management of business related workstreams within wider commercial services projects.
- Partner with Global Commercial Services Leadership groups to effectively develop project plans and represent the needs for APAC, supporting Global Commercial Services initiatives.
- Oversee successful implementation of new projects, maintenance and support of product enhancements with Commercial Services partners.
- Ensure that the APAC Commercial Services unit remains in control of its execution and is anticipating when we’re deviating (for better or worse) from plan and drives actions from this as a result.
- Proactively comes with proposals to the Leadership Team to course-correct our execution when off-plan.
- Governance and oversight to internal / external vendors (technology, process, project).
- Although the position does not have any Direct Reports, as a Project Manager, you will need to manage stakeholders at all levels and on multiple project workstreams.
- Lead the Senior Manager, Sales Performance Management - APAC to ensure the Sales Incentive Program for APAC is fit for purpose and relevant to needs.
- Lead SPM discussions on a global level and incorporate feedback from the APAC Leaders.
Planning and Governance
- Commercial Plan: PMO for APAC key initiatives and tactics.
- Commercial Strategic Blueprints: Formulation and implementation of the APAC commercial strategic roadmap.
Commercial Services Integration
- Franchise: Define Commercial Services Franchise support by function mirroring O&M.
- BPS: Launch Gen for Commercial Services implementation and advocacy.
- Working relationships: Establish framework between Commercial, Development, Operations and Owners.
- Value Proposition: Develop and launch Commercial Services Value Proposition.
Sales Performance Management
- Restart SIP: Relaunch SIP for all hotels.
- SCOUT: Renew operating method to advance cross-pollination.
- Continuous auditing: Be relentless about operationality and finding efficiencies driving global improvement.
- Non-monetary programs: Explore option to further engage Sales TMs.
Commercial Events
- Re-launch: Establish a commercial events calendar in line with performance cadence. Build a cross-functional team to support events production.
- Awards programs: Align with global Commercial recognition programs and facilitate delivery in region.
