Role Summary:
The Coordinator will overview and support the end to end execution of the logistics operations performed by and for the Flowserve sites under his/her purview. In his/her capacity, the Logistics Analyst will report to the Global Director Logistics and will be responsible for the operational and financial performances of the Flowserve sites under his purview in the APAC region. While focus is on the successful end-to-end execution of logistics operation, the logistics analyst will also work with the logistics providers to ensure all resources and capacity will be optimally used to support Flowserve and its customers achieving best-in-industry logistics standard. The logistics analyst will also act as the liaison between the site shipping department, the site supply chain team, the logistics providers’ teams and the Global Logistics team.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Lead/Coordinate Inbound, outbound and Third party logistics operations.
- Support and provide guidance to logistics personnel on site ensuring global logistics recommendations, guidance, procedures and policies are followed up at all times.
- Act as a liaison between local providers / site and global logistics team site ensuring global logistics recommendations, guidance, procedures and policies are followed up at all times.
- Solve logistics related issues using Root Causes / Counter measures model (RCCM)
- Maintain Shipping records, including providing tracking or shipping history information to customers on request.
- Review pipeline of orders and oversee EOM/EOQ/EOY huddles to ensure capacity and resources are aligned for end-to-end successful logistics operations
- Ensure that the Freight Payment Policy is followed.
- Review and audit freight bills and excessive cost reports for accuracy. Respond to billing questions from external freight payment services.
- Formally document new or changed procedures. Identify who requires training and deliver training if needed.
- Maintain knowledge of current international export/import regulatory requirements and attend training as needed to maintain this.
- Participate in, initiate transportation-related project teams.
- Provide guidance to Purchasing on approved carriers and freight forwarders by state, country, region.
- Responsible for utilizing and adhering to the Global Logistics Approved Vendor List.
- Manage the escalation process to resolve logistics issues within site.
- Effectively lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action to resolve customer-related shipping issues.
- Maintain a local relationship with approved suppliers and stakeholders and resolve/escalate complex supplier issues.
- Ability to understand and actively use carrier tracking reports to ensure commitments are met.
- Maintain a minimum of 98% compliance in shipping and report shipping metrics monthly.
- Participate in logistics meetings and calls.
- Previous Import and Export Compliance experience.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and an ERP system.
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Adherence to all safety policies and regulations related to logistics operations
- Other duties as assigned depending on projects and initiatives led by the Global Logistics team (Bids, continuous improvement)
Preferred skills and experience:
- 5-7 years logistics-related work experience in a similar role
- Experience managing End-to-end domestic and international operations (Previous Import and Export Compliance experience.)
- Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Strong Organizational skills and Detail Oriented
- Advanced MS Excel skills; able to demonstrate the required skills during interview process
- creating pivot tables, databases, graphs/charts.
- BS, BA or Master in Business, Supply chain or Logistics
Travel requirements:
- 15% travel both domestic and international
