The office is currently seeking applicants to fill one or more Assistant U.S. Attorney positions in the Criminal Division. Assignments will include responsibility for all phases of criminal prosecution, from providing guidance to law enforcement officers, initiating criminal charges, conducting grand jury proceedings and trials, handling appeals, or asset forfeiture matters.

The assignments in this position are designed to prepare the incumbent to perform the duties and responsibilities of the target position. Typical duties will include:

-Uses an automated staffing system to create job analyses, assessment questionnaires, and job announcements.
-Advises new employees on basic benefit information and eligibility to include, FEHB, FEGLI, CSRS/FERS and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
-Provides advice on basic pay, premium pay and leave administration laws and regulations.
-Issues job offers and onboards new hires.
-Processes personnel actions in the Payroll/Personnel System (PPS).

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing administrative and analytical support to senior management for the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), District of West Virginia. Typical work assignments will include:

• Reviewing and analyzing a wide range of incoming/outgoing executive level correspondence and making determinations as to its appropriate disposition according to District, DOJ and EOUSA procedures and guidelines.
• Dealing with staff and outside agencies' personnel as well as with higher Executive office staff in programming the U.S. Attorney's long-range calendar to drive others to early planning.
• Handling of telephone calls, messages, and daily details of the First Assistant U.S. Attorney's and other senior management's travel and office itineraries, to include requests for transportation, accommodations, office calls, and briefings while on travel.

The AUSA in this position will be responsible for forfeiture-related matters in our Phoenix office. Primary responsibilities include criminal forfeiture, civil forfeiture, and seizure warrants in cases involving violations of federal laws such as immigration, drugs, firearms, and financial crime.
