Join Our Team as a Support Worker in Woodley, Reading!
Location: Woodley, Reading, RG5 (Just a 5 min drive from the Woodley Town Centre Shopping Precinct)
Pay Rate: £11.70 per hour (+ £50 per Sleep-In Shift)
Position: Full-Time (37.5 Hours Per Week)
Requirements: Full UK Manual Driver's License (essential)

Who Will You Be Supporting?
In this active, friendly home, you'll support three fantastic gentlemen, each with their own unique interests and vibrant personalities:
- Gent 1 has Fragile X syndrome and enjoys exploring his hobbies. He's a big comic book fan and loves conventions, cinema trips, and football - he recently created a Tin Man sculpture for Halloween, and it's currently in the running for a prize!
- Gents 2 and 3 are more independent but love social activities. They're sociable, enjoy music, and regularly catch up at the Friday disco. Both attend a day center three times a week and are always up for new experiences, from bike rides to holidays and beyond.
These gentlemen are supported to maintain independence and build connections with their families, who are closely involved in their lives.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Support Worker, you'll play a key role in enhancing the lives of these individuals, ensuring they have the opportunity to experience new activities and fulfill their goals. Responsibilities include:
- Empowering Independence: Provide active support to keep the gentlemen engaged, with some 1:1 support for the youngest resident.
- Daily Living Support: Assist with varying levels personal care, meal preparation, and medication as needed.
- Social Engagement: Whether it's helping them get to the day center, cheering them on at the Friday disco, or supporting them in exploring new hobbies, your proactive and social approach will make each day exciting and fulfilling.
- Building Relationships: You'll be a steady presence, working closely with their families and friends to keep them connected to their loved ones.
Shift Patterns:
- Day Shifts: 7am - 3:30pm
- Afternoon Shifts: 3:30pm - 10pm
- Sleep-In Shifts: 10pm - 7am (paid at hourly rate until 9:30am)
- Flexible rotas provided 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.
