Purpose of the job/About the role

Join Dementia UK as a People Assistant and play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of administrative services for the People team. Your work will help provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, contributing to making Dementia UK a fantastic place to work.

As the primary point of contact for the People team inbox, you will manage incoming emails, resolving them where possible, or directing them to the appropriate team members. You will collaborate closely with the wider team and stakeholders across the charity, ensuring that administration tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner. You will also handle general administration in support of the full employee life cycle, from job candidates to leavers and everything in between, plus contribute to wider team projects and data requests.

To succeed in this role, you will possess exceptional customer service skills and have a solid understanding of delivering on customer needs within a structured policy framework. You will have previous experience of working with Microsoft Officer 365 applications and may be working towards a CIPD qualification.

Purpose of the job/About the role

Join the People team as a Learning and Development Assistant and play a key role in delivering high-quality administrative support to our Learning and Development team. You will provide a customer-focused service, ensuring the smooth running of our learning and development initiatives.

Working closely with the Learning and Development Manager and the wider team, you will help support the ongoing learning, development, and talent management processes at Dementia UK. Your role will include liaising with suppliers to schedule training sessions as part of our Learning Programme, as directed by the Learning and Development Manager. You will also monitor the Learning inbox, ensuring timely responses to queries. You’ll manage the learning request form, ensuring staff are enrolled in Learning Programme courses and escalating external requests to the Learning and Development Manager when necessary.

In addition, you will assist with the onboarding of new starters by setting them up on our learning platforms, such as LinkedIn Learning and iHasco. You will also support key policies and processes related to performance and feedback, including appraisals, 360 feedback, and our recognition scheme. This involves responding to first-line queries and escalating them where appropriate, as well as supporting the delivery of 360 feedback processes and our quarterly recognition awards.

To succeed in this role, you will possess exceptional customer service skills and have a strong understanding of meeting customer needs within a structured policy framework. You should have experience working with Microsoft Office 365 applications and ideally have prior experience working within a busy UK-based L&D, People, or HR team. Charity experience, as well as holding or working towards a CIPD qualification is a plus.

Purpose of the job/About the role

This is an exciting new role at Dementia UK to join the Finance team as a Procurement Manager, playing a vital role in overseeing the acquisition of goods and services necessary for the charity’s operations.

Working closely with various colleagues across the charity, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Your role will include identifying potential suppliers, conducting due diligence, and negotiating favorable agreements that support Dementia UK’s mission.

This role is critical in ensuring that we achieve value for money in all purchasing activities, benchmarking performance against other organisations, and testing competitiveness. You will champion effective procurement practices across Dementia UK, ensuring compliance with all relevant procurement regulations and legislation.

As this is a newly established position, your contributions will be key in embedding the procurement function within the charity. You will ensure that value for money is always a priority while upholding quality standards and maintaining transparency in all procurement activities.

To succeed in this role, you will bring substantial experience in procurement management and hold a relevant qualification, such as a Level 5 or 6 Diploma in Procurement and Supply, or MCIPS. Your strong understanding of procurement strategies, along with knowledge of charity-specific requirements and regulations, including financial constraints, will be essential. Additionally, you will have a proven track record of building and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and solving problems effectively.

Purpose of the job/About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Challenge Events Team at Dementia UK, where you will help coordinate the programme of supporter-led (or ‘DIY’) challenge event activities, driving both participation and income for the organisation.

As the Challenge Events Executive, you will leverage your knowledge and insight to identify new partnerships and opportunities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans that increase participant numbers and creating stewardship journeys that ensure excellent supporter experiences and maximise income. Additionally, you will be responsible for stewarding the ‘DIY’ challenge event supporters and will work to provide automated stewardship suitable for the masses as well as bespoke stewardship to the high value supporters.

To be successful in the site role, you will have experience of coordinating fundraising events or campaigns. You should possess hands-on experience utilising relationship databases, coupled with an understanding of effective marketing channels, particularly digital. Additionally, expertise in stewardship techniques will be crucial for increasing remittance rates and maximising average gifts. You should also have an understanding of how to use insights, data and market trends to identify opportunities and make recommendations.

Purpose of the job/about the role

The Supporter Care team is responsible for providing the highest level of customer care to everyone who interacts with and supports Dementia UK. As the Supporter Care Officer, you will help maintain and drive fundraising growth across various income streams. You will achieve this by ensuring the best possible supporter experience for all our donors and by proactively improving processes and ways of working to support this overarching responsibility.

Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, the Supporter Care Officer will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Dementia UK. You will respond to enquiries via post, email, and telephone, and will be responsible for thanking our supporters by adapting and personalising templates to deliver high-quality thank you letters.
You will also work closely with our database to maintain the quality of information available and assist with gift processing. This includes handling sensitive data, such as credit card information, confidently and securely. Additionally, you will support all teams across fundraising and assist the Supporter Care Manager in identifying processes that could be improved, ensuring our database accurately captures our income.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience delivering high standards of customer service over the telephone, with the ability to handle enquiries diplomatically and sensitively. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team, building relationships with both colleagues and supporters.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Virtual Events team, helping to coordinate a portfolio of virtual events expected to raise over £3.5 million annually!

As the Virtual Events Executive you will be responsible for the end-to-end project management of virtual events. These events include a number of month-long challenges, where we recruit supporters to a Facebook group, offer a free incentive and ask them to complete a challenge over a month period (walk 1km a day, walk 100km with your dog, walk 30 miles etc.) and fundraise for Dementia UK.

Your key responsibilities will include delivering marketing plans with the support of an agency to bolster participant engagement and revenue as well as curating stewardship journeys that ensure exceptional supporter experiences. You will keep up to date with the evolving landscape of virtual events proactively identifying prospects for enhancing, expanding, and diversifying our virtual events program.

The ideal candidate will have proven track record of coordinating successful fundraising events or campaigns. You will have a good understanding of marketing channels, especially in driving engagement for challenge events through digital platforms. You will have experience of working with external agencies on events or campaigns and a knowledge of how to use insights, data and market trends to identify opportunities and make recommendations.

About the role

Working in close collaboration with IT and various teams within Dementia UK, the Process Improvement and Training Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing processes to deliver enhanced value to the organisation.

In this position, you will spearhead the analysis and design of business processes, pinpointing alternative IT solutions aimed at boosting efficiency, effectiveness, and leveraging emerging technologies and automation. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering seamless collaboration within the organisation using Agile techniques to develop rapid IT solutions. The primary goal is to reduce the time taken for development, while providing high-quality software. To facilitate these transformations, you will lead training initiatives using a range of techniques, resources and media including face-to-face learning, e-learning, on-line virtual environments and projects.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess an industry-recognised qualification in process improvement with a strong technical proficiency of M365 and Microsoft Power BI. Your background should encompass comprehensive IT training experience and software configuration skills across multiple platforms. You will be familiar with software testing, change management, and have a proven track record in project management. About the role

Research is a key element in Dementia UK’s strategic aims and runs throughout all our approaches to supporting people with dementia and their families. Our research is focused on care not cure, helping to improve lives and support our Admiral Nurses.

As part of the Research and Publications Team, we are seeking to employ two research fellows to support the delivery of our Research Strategy which we launched in September 2023.

This role will support in designing and undertaking literature reviews, developing review questions in collaboration with our patient and public involvement group. You will lead on data collection conducting interviews with people with dementia, carers, Admiral Nurses or other key stakeholders, analysing that data and disseminating the research findings. You will also collaborate with other researchers, representing Dementia UK in supporting and advising researchers in the field of dementia care.

The successful candidate will have a first degree or higher in a course relevant subject (e.g., psychology, nursing, social care) with a PHD or equivalent accepted based on cognate area of understanding. You will have demonstrable research experience within dementia, health or social care with the ability to explain complex qualitative and quantitative information in a simple and understandable format for a range of audiences.
