As an Attorney-Adviser (General), you will:

• Within the applicable subject-matter area, provide legal advice to managers and staff.
• Support legal positions taken by the United States or BPA, and works with members of various BPA offices and Departmental components to provide opinions and advice within the scope of the assignment.
• Analyze and interpret various federal and state laws, orders, rules and regulations, and case law applying to the United States and to BPA.
• Assist in analyzing and drafting proposed legislation, regulations, and/or statements of agency policy.
• Prepare pleadings and evidence as directed by the United States Attorneys' Office and the Department of Justice, and represent BPA at administrative hearings as assigned.

As a System Protection Control Craftsman I and II, you will:

• Use test equipment to determine response of energy meters, line protection relays, telemetering, switchboard indication, power system recording systems, instrument transformers, substation data networks and other power system devices used for information and control. Legacy and new technology is used for repair of substation equipment. Follows accepted procedures to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment.
• As required, makes arrangement for equipment outages with Operations and customer utilities.
• Prepare data reports and keep incidental records pertinent to the tests performed.
• Use technical documentation for maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Collect, scale, and annotate power system event and fault records.
• Keep test equipment in good safe working order.
• Under direct supervision, performs miscellaneous duties related to the maintenance of the power system.
• Assists in training of System Protection Control Craftsman Trainees.
• Performs special assignments related to System Protection Control work such as developing test programs, developing, and assembling special test circuits, performing novel tests, and developing trouble-shooting instructions. Provides advice on problems.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will:

• Independently perform fault calculations and WECC-mandated relay setting reviews both within BPA and to review and coordinate those calculations and settings with adjoining utilities.
• Complete and review AGC and interchange and customer revenue meter settings for new capital construction projects and customer interconnection projects and maintenance projects.
• Provide and submit WECC-required documentation for relay settings, as covered under WECC PRC compliance standards.
• Lead and coordinate the testing and energization of new construction SPC systems and equipment within the District.
• Independently investigate and resolve problems and abnormal conditions in electrical SPC systems and equipment; conducts detailed, comprehensive engineering studies to determine cause of equipment failures; researches trends and patterns.
• Technical specialist in the development or collaboration in the formulation of new SPC standards, application guides, and training material.
• Initiate, Design and Coordinate installation and commissioning of Meter and Relay equipment.
• Provide technical support for Designers, Project managers and Testing and Commissioning engineers in addition to adjacent utility Engineers for construction and maintenance activities, including meter and relay technical support for the Testing and Commissioning organization.
