This role will focus on:
You will manage the general EHS Function, reporting to and supporting the QEHS Manager in compliance to all requirements, assisting and coordinating global Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assure ongoing compliance with all EHS regulatory requirements.ISO 14001 compliance ISO 45001 implementation progress.
- Manage the creation, implementation and maintenance of any attendant Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS), by developing, implementing and approving the companies EHS policies, procedures and any other documentation as required.
- Co-ordinate EHS training for all staffing levels using the appropriate resources, manage the gathering of relevant information, maintaining records and updating of any attendant systems.As well as completion of staff inductions, staff briefings, toolbox-talks and 'safety stand-downs'.
- Manage the maintenance, review and update of EHS performance data for both internal use and to meet any group requirements (regular coordination of relevant standards, objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and leading indicators).
- Manage periodic review of any legislative changes regarding EHS and manage the update of company processes, systems and documents as necessary.
- Co-ordinate periodical EHS & Carbon Footprint data gathering, (using supplied system) with regards to sustainability, environment and waste management.
- Investigate: Near misses, Accidents and Incidents as required using the organisations policies, procedures and processes, ensuring that we are compliant with our 'Serious Incident Policy' and any notification/reporting requirements.
- Analyse data to identify any trends and recognise areas for improvement in the EHS systems.
- Co-ordinate and support on-site EHS audits, both internally and externally.
- Assist with the creation, implementation and review/update of all Risk Assessments (to include: PUWER, General, Task, Activity, COSHH, etc. (list not exhaustive))
- Identify EHS issues and propose corrective and preventive actions, through proper investigation, research and employee involvement/engagement
- Deputise for the QEHS Manager when required and Manage the EHS Team (EHS Advisors / Coordinators) as applicable.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Formal H&S qualification at level 3 (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
- NEBOSH Diploma or already attained or working towards.
- Previous experience in an EHS Supervisory/Management Role, (manufacturing based preferable).
- Computer literate with skills in office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of and management of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Awareness of Lean Manufacturing Techniques is desirable.
