About The Role
We are looking for a dynamic Head of Product Management who will be responsible for leading the regional product managers in Asia Pacific to meet the financial and strategic objectives of the Plastic Additives business. This position is also responsible for regional product management of the Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) product line. The role will focus on developing and continuously improving common business processes and rules used in Asia Pacific and harmonize both with global business functions.
How You Will Do It
Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional product management team, fostering a culture of accountability, entrepreneurship, and continuous improvement.
• Member of EVP regional Business Leadership Team and first escalation point for Regional Product Managers.
Strategy
• Develop and implement regional product strategies that align with the overall business goals and market needs.
• Lead the product management team in identifying growth opportunities, setting priorities, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Financial performance
• Establish financial targets for product lines together with global product management and monitor performance against these targets, ensuring accountability across teams.
• Conduct regular financial and market analysis, including pricing strategies, cost management, and profitability assessments, to drive decisions that enhance financial performance.
Market intelligence and supply network optimization
• Oversee market research and competitive analysis to identify and address market trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities and threats.
• Drive third party sourcing from suppliers, tollers and co-producers in alignment with relevant stakeholders. Responsible for regional demand/supply balancing and volume allocations in case of shortages.
Portfolio management
• Optimize product portfolio, manage business continuity and ensure product compliance with regulatory requirements across Asia. Decide product specification, drive resolution of quality issues and approve raw material suppliers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive innovation that meets the strategic and financial targets of the business. Responsible for regional business cases for new product developments and making recommendations to start/continue/stop product developments.
Collaboration
• Work closely with global product management, sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, procurement, controlling, quality management and product stewardship & regulatory teams to ensure cohesive strategies that support financial and strategic objectives.
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages input and engagement from all relevant stakeholders.
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, engineering or business-related field
- Minimum 5 years business experience within both upstream and downstream chemical industry, ideally across various functions such as marketing, sales, product management, R&D, production, controlling
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills. Demonstrated business acumen and ability to make timely, data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- Proven leadership experience including but not limited to project management or change management initiatives, with a focus on developing and motivating teams to achieve results.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes in both upstream and downstream chemical industry.
- Strong project and change management skills are a plus
- Experience in plastic industries or additive industries is a plus
