The EPR Team is excited to announce a fantastic secondment opportunity to join the programme as our Urgent and Emergency Care Subject Matter Expert.

Our EPR Subject Matter Experts play a key role in the implementation of BHRUT’s new EPR by acting as the subject specialist within their designated area of expertise, using their knowledge of our internal Trust systems and processes to support the supplier and wider programme team with decision-making and design of our new workflows.

For this specific role, we are looking for:
* Emergency patient pathway experience
* Understanding of patient handover within ED and wards
* Use of UEC dashboards to manage UEC pathways
* Ability to analyse and resolve complex queries, issues and problems

We are looking for people with an enthusiasm for digital, but no need to be a technical IT whizz. Your organisational knowledge, experiences, and subject matter expertise are much more important to us, and are the key to the programme’s success.

All SME opportunities will be a secondment at your current band, terms and conditions. Our expectation is that this postholder will work at around B8a to B8c level.

The EPR Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will provide subject specialist expertise to support the introduction of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution for Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT).

The EPR SMEs will provide specialist input to the EPR programme, working closely with the Chief Operational Information Officer, Workstream Leads, Workstream Analysts and associates from our system supplier to influence the decision-making processes for the design and workflow of the new EPR.

The EPR SMEs will be role specific. Using their own expertise and knowledge of existing Trust processes and systems, alongside their ability to form excellent working relationships with colleagues in their role-specific area, they will collate consensus data and facilitate feedback, influencing the build and establishment of future workflows within the EPR.

Each EPR SME will be a champion in their own field and must carry credibility with colleagues. They will play a vital role in enabling successful service transition and therefore must have an aptitude for understanding digital systems and its enablers in healthcare. They will apply best practice Transformation principles to nurture staff willingness and ableness to adopt new ways of working.

The Department of Neurosciences is looking to recruit a Skull Base fellow to start in September 2024. This neurosurgical skull base fellowship is a one year training program designed to prepare individuals for successful careers in cranial neurosurgery. This fellowship is fully approved by the Royal College of Surgeons and is designed between two busy skull base and pituitary surgery units at Queen’s Hospital Romford and Royal London Hospital. Both Skull Base and Pituitary surgery units offer a high-volume tertiary clinical experience covering all aspects of advanced skull base and pituitary surgery. The BHRUT renal service is provided as part of the North East London renal service in a hub and spoke model which allows patients with acute and chronic kidney disease to be managed locally with more complex kidney disease and kidney transplant patients being referred to Royal London Hospital..

Renal services based in BHRUT include in-patient management of acute and chronic renal conditions, inpatient referrals and out-patient service providing care for patient in general nephrology, vasculitis and supportive care clinics.

Patients with complex kidney diseases are managed up to dialysis and transplantation with the support of the specialist tertiary centre at Barts Health NHS Trust, based in Royal London Hospital. Haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplantation are provided by the specialist renal unit in Royal London Hospital and in two satellite units based in Queen's and King George Hospitals.

Patients with acute kidney Injury requiring renal replacement therapy are largely managed in ITU and stepped-down to Renal ward at Queens and referred to Royal London Hospital only if they need on-going dialysis. There are 2 haemodialysis stations in the renal ward at Queens who provide in patient dialysis service to any patient admitted to Queens hospital with support from critical care for patient too unwell to stay on the renal ward.

The post holder will be a member of the Specialist Medicine Directorate in BHRUT and will be part of the consultant team that will deliver nephrology services across the North East London according to local and national priorities as determined by appropriate national guidelines.

The post holder is expected to possess membership of the Royal College of Physicians or to have equivalent qualifications, to be on the GMC specialist register at the time of taking up the post and have obtained the MRCP Renal certification.

The post-holder is expected to share in-patient commitments with the existing full-time nephrologist to provide an acute in-patient referral service and ward-based care 52 weeks a year across both trust sites.(KGH and Queens)

The post-holder is actively encouraged to participate in service-development and clinical-governance activities, in addition to clinical and educational supervision of junior trainees. The post holder will be expected to attend appropriate meetings depending on sub-specialist interests in order to further the development of the services across the network and have secretarial support and an adequately equipped office, including IT facilities.

FMLM: Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management

We are recruiting Band 5 nurses to work across our Frailty Units and Geriatric Wards at both Queens Hospital and King George Hospital:

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and demonstrate PRIDE values and behaviours through their work.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse you will work as part of our multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care to our patients. You will contribute to the daily activity on the ward and have opportunity to be involved in multiple different care tasks. You will have excellent learning and development opportunities and will be working with a supportive and dynamic team.
To be considered for this role, you need to hold a valid U.K NMC registration or on track to receive your NMC PIN.
