Will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to members of the Human Resources Department and occasionally to Administrative Services as directed. The Sales professional should be comfortable with ambitious targets, managing customer and partner relationships, and coordinating with regional training centers to broker learning solutions that meet customer needs. Responsibilities

The Rapid Response Damage Assessment (RRDA) program is seeking an Engineer or a Senior Engineer to assist with the modeling and analysis of vessel stability and hull strength for ships and offshore floating structures and verify their compliance with applicable Rules and Regulations.

The RRDA program provides 24/7 technical assistance to ship and offshore floating structure related emergencies such as grounding and collision. When activated, RRDA is an extension of the vessel management team’s own response capability, focusing on the measure of changes occurring to hull strength, stability and the extent to which risk of pollution can be mitigated. This new position is expected to work along with a group of experienced engineers to respond to client service requests when emergencies occur or participate in routine vessel emergency response drills.

The RRDA work by nature of its complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science. Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, the ideal candidate will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods and procedures.

Reporting Relationships:

As the Lead of ABS Global Simulation Center, you will be actively engaged in driving industry-leading research and development associated with Modeling and Simulation.

What You Will Do:

• Lead the ABS Global Simulation Center, in charting the path forward for the marine and offshore industry in the field of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) with focus on the following areas:M&S of systems onboard of ships or offshore platforms such as power and propulsion systems, electrical system, and fuel gas supply systems

Job Capsule
This is a full- time position, and may be an intermediate level position for an individual under the supervision and guidance of experienced field Mechanical Engineer.

Primary function is to examine and report on vessels and other marine structures during and after construction relative to compliance with the applicable requirements for maintaining the vessel in Classification with ABS and meeting associated statutory and special service requirements related to Safety of Life at Sea, Loadline, Tonnage, Cargo Gear and Pollution Prevention Certification.

Develops skills necessary for the administration of office procedures and monitoring of business performance at an assigned port.

Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, individual develop a thorough understanding of field operations, policies, methods, and procedures.

Job Duties/Roles
With the assistance and guidance of an experienced Mechanical Engineer:
1. Acts as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related rules, regulations, requirements, concepts, principles and processes.
2. Performs routine surveys/ inspections on classed vessels, platforms or other marine structures and at manufacturers for classification and compliance with statutory requirements.
3. Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed.
4. Engages in contact with clients to resolve problems within area of expertise.
5. Maintains survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility.
