The King’s Theatre in Glasgow is a Grade A Listed building, designed by renowned theatre architect Frank Matcham, which opened in 1904. This year the venue celebrates 120 years at the heart of the city, playing host to top stars from Billy Connolly and Laurence Olivier to Dolly Parton and Elaine C Smith. The King’s has been owned by Glasgow City Council since 1967 and ATG has managed the theatre since 2002. Famous for its annual Christmas pantomime and receiving the best productions in UK theatre, The King’s Theatre also provides Glasgow’s flourishing amateur groups with a high-profile stage.
The King's Theatre Glasgow is looking for a Deputy Chief Electrician to join their dynamic and experienced technical team. You'll work alongside the rest of the team, reporting into the Chief Electrician and Stage Manager. In this role you will help to maintain the wide variety of LX equipment in venue as well as working with visiting companies and producers to stage top class shows for our audience whilst at all times adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Working closely with visiting companies to ensure their needs are met
Assisting the Chief LX with scheduling staff to ensure schedules are published in good time.
Assist with get-in and get-outs for shows and acting a duty tech
Assisting the technical team on all back of house and technical safety matters
Developing a regime of planned maintenance, testing and inspection of all stage aspects of the venue
Attend regular departmental meetings and ensure the team are well-informed and motivated

What are we looking for?
The ability to read and interpret lighting plans
Previous experience working in a technical department in a large-scale or touring theatre.
Knowledge/experience of setting up lighting/AV/comms systems
Knowledge/experience of setting up audio systems.
First aid certificate is desirable
