Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of a Head of Sound of a first-class production and will include mixing the show and ensuring the department is in good working order.

The successful candidate must be available for rehearsals in London and performances in Edinburgh in line with the production schedule.

Assistant Stage Manager

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, experienced Assistant Stage Manager to work on the London production of STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW.

Written by Kate Trefry, an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne and Kate Trefry, directed by Stephen Daldry, co-directed by Justin Martin for the Phoenix Theatre and produced by Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions – this new play has taken the West End by storm.

Your duties and responsibilities will be those normally expected of an Assistant Stage Manager on a first-class West End production.

Previous experience as an ASM on a busy show is essential. Skills required include attention to detail, calm under the pressure of a busy live production environment and good all-round technical skills.

As Head of Stage you'll lead on all aspects of stage infrastructure within the theatre relating to both the production and the building, taking a lead on production stage and carpentry requirements. To succeed in this role you'll need to be a clear communicator, able to closely work with the Technical & Buildings Manager and General Manager to develop an effective working relationship with our visiting companies, the venue team, colleagues in London theatres and ATG's central services as well as contractors and suppliers; great people skills are as important as technical ability for this position. There's a good balance in the role between practical technical work and management of the department; please note regular evening and weekend work will be required.

Our Colonnade Bar in sunny Brighton is seeking experience Bar Team Members to join our friendly team! The Colonnade Bar is a Grade II listed building in the heart of the city. The Colonnade and the Theatre Royal are currently undergoing a huge restoration project, to restore the building and façade to its original condition. The façade is expected to be completed in May 2024, where the scaffolding will be removed, and the pub will regain its outside seating area. It is a local's favourite, and requires people to be friendly, welcoming, and to help create a relaxed atmosphere in the pub.

You will work closely with the pub supervisors operationally on shifts to creating the best environment for all our guests. The Colonnade also is supported by a cellar team, working closely with all bar staff to make the day to day running as smooth as possible.

This is a great opportunity to join and work within a new team in a newly refurbished pub, and to contribute to the reputation and standing of the pub as part of the community and cultural centre of the town.

Stage Management Internship

Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a Stage Management Internship on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This is an exciting development opportunity for someone who wishes to gain practical experience and knowledge in theatre stage management.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.

The internship will run from August to October 2024 across the Production’s recast rehearsals. The Intern will work across Monday to Saturday each week. Standard working hours will be between 9.30am – 7.30pm, although some evenings may be required.

The Intern will be trained and supported by the show’s Stage Management department. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: supporting technical elements of the rehearsals, maintain props, shadowing show plots.

We ask that candidates should:

Be able to demonstrate interest and experience in theatre stage management.
Have some practical experience of supporting live events or productions on a voluntary or amateur basis.
Be eager to learn.
Work well under pressure and within a team.
Professional experience is not required.

This internship is best suited for those in the final year of a university course. Note that this internship is for over 18s only.

The King's Theatre Glasgow is looking for a Deputy Chief Electrician to join their dynamic and experienced technical team. You'll work alongside the rest of the team, reporting into the Chief Electrician and Stage Manager. In this role you will help to maintain the wide variety of LX equipment in venue as well as working with visiting companies and producers to stage top class shows for our audience whilst at all times adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with visiting companies to ensure their needs are met
Assisting the Chief LX with scheduling staff to ensure schedules are published in good time.
Assist with get-in and get-outs for shows and acting a duty tech
Assisting the technical team on all back of house and technical safety matters
Developing a regime of planned maintenance, testing and inspection of all stage aspects of the venue

Our wonderful New Victoria Theatre, Rhoda McGaw Theatre and Nova Cinema is looking for a new Deputy Ticketing and Sales Manager to join our dynamic team.

ATG’s theatres and cinema complex in Woking, comprises the New Victoria Theatre (1300 seats), Rhoda McGaw Theatre (228 Seats), and the 7-screen Nova Cinema. This is an exciting time to be joining the complex, with the Nova having recently relaunched following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, making it one of the most state-of-the-art cinemas in the country.

The Deputy Ticketing and Sales Manager will assist the Ticketing and Sales Manager in the key responsibility of revenue management and net box office generation, through optimising sales and frequently undertaking revenue management, maximising occupancy and average ticket prices of all shows. You’ll be responsible for the Customer Service Hosts (Ticketing) and also work closely with all other departments, most frequently Customer Experience and Marketing.

The Deputy Ticketing and Sales Manager must show – and actively encourage – a proactive approach to sell theatre tickets, memberships, packages, lounges, pizzeria tables and ancillary products, and to give the right information at any point of the customer buying a ticket (before, during and after the show). The Deputy will be responsible for ensuring that specific ticketing processes are adhered to so that budgetary targets are met and will need to deputise for the Ticketing and Sales Manager as and when needed. The candidate will need to embrace change and enable the Venue’s Ticketing and Sales team to do the same. They must have excellent technological skills as the role is almost entirely computer based.

The role is an on-site position that requires the successful candidate to be present at the theatre complex during the working day, although working hours can be flexible.

Senior Technician - Lighting

The Liverpool Empire Theatre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Technician for Lighting. This role is an integral part of the technical team within this busy regional venue.

You will fully support the Head of Lighting and Sound in all aspects of lighting and sound, you will also work with the Technical team to drive forward the highest standards of technical support to visiting companies and in house projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate skills in Lighting including rigging, focusing, lighting design work, operation of lighting desks and have prior experience in large scale touring or venues.

The successful candidate must be an excellent team player with great communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a large casual team as well as an ability to assist on stage when and if required. You will also have a good working knowledge of current health & safety legislation as well as working at height. Our wonderful Liverpool Empire Theatre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join the technical team as a Senior Technician, this role is an integral part of the technical team within this busy regional venue. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in the technical aspects of theatre craft and have a background in facilitating shows. You will be a good team player with excellent communication skills, computer literate and the ability to lead and motivate others. You will have a good working knowledge of current health and safety legislation, along with modern theatre technology systems.

The Senior Technician - Sound will report to the Head of Lighting & Sound and Head of Stage, and to the Back of House Operations Manager where appropriate. You will be responsible for helping manage the casual staff within the technical department.

As Senior Technician - Sound, you will be supporting the Head of Lighting and Sound and working as part of the crew on the get in's and get outs and Duty Technician shifts.
