What You Will Achieve
As a Separation / Isolation Development Coordinator you will coordinate and carry out the aspects of Fermentation Separation, and Isolation at pilot plant scale, in collaboration of a scientist. Working with limited oversight to achieve the goals of the experiment. Working with maintenance, and unit support to achieve results.
How You Will Achieve It
Performs the full range of manual activities to run small-scale isolations, including centrification, distillations, writing operating records, managing equipment from 10L to 6000L, interfacing with control systems, data reporting, cleaning, etc., with minimal supervision. Performs calculations as needed to set up operations and to prepare results for use by others. Uses standard computer applications.
Reports results both orally and by recording on appropriate spreadsheets, batch records, or other forms. Maintains area and equipment in clean, safe, and functional order. Complies with training, health, safety, and environmental expectations. May be required to work in the fermentation pilot plant as needed.
Works closely with scientists and support personnel to ensure the success of complex fermentation operations. Works to develop solutions to routine problems. Troubleshoots equipment problems.
Mentors and assists fellow technicians/new operators by sharing knowledge and providing hands on training.
Consistently delivers high quality work. Strives to continue learning and developing the skills associated with this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
High school diploma / general education degree (GED).
Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an operator in a pilot plant or production manufacturing environment is required.
Completion of Operator training program and minimum four years on the job experience as a Chemical Operator with demonstrated broad knowledge of operations and production areas.
Effective written and oral communication skills
Prior experience and proficiency at running small-scale fermentations with minimal experience is required.
Computer skills including Microsoft Applications and experience with SAP, effective written and oral communication skills in English, and basic mathematical skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience utilizing Safe Work Permits, Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures, PDH (Process Data Historian), Wonderware.
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: Fork-lift certification, as required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Demands: Considerable standing, walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting, and moving of containers up to 25 kg.
Work Environment: Must work near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
Use of hearing and eye protection is required.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
First Shift position, with core hours of 7 am – 3:30 pm
On Call duty activities, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The salary for this position ranges from $26.48 to $44.14 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
