Role and Responsibilities
Join our business aviation training division as Finance Leader – FP & A. In this new role based at our Training Centre in Gatwick you will be leading a small local team reporting into our US-based Head of Finance supporting and advising our local business leaders on individual financial business performance. You will be the focal point of contact to provide accounting and reporting recommendation for all projects such as simulator relocations, BD initiatives (Cross Road), divestment, VAT harmonization, Bank consolidation, Payroll outsourcing and management.
As part of our Finance leadership team, you will be taking part in continuous improvement projects relating to process standardization, strategy execution and enhancement initiatives to support accelerated technological innovation in Finance.
The role we are offering you
In this position you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of Monthly performance reports including all corporate reporting requirements consisting of:
- Comparing business performance to prior year, budgets, and forecasts, performing variance analysis to explain differences (ME+4) and make improvements going forward.
- Responsible for maintaining a register of financial risk and opportunities / one timers.
- Managing the completion and submission of the Training Centre Monthly Operational
- Reporting (TCMOR) and Training Centers Management Business Review pack as required.
- Preparation and presentation of the financials Monthly Business Report (MBR) and
- Regional Segment Review in CAD with corporate adjustments (output level)
- Maintaining cost centre dashboard headcount and payroll analysis by function
- Maintaining KPI’s including profitability by asset, asset utilization, TC benchmarks and other key business metrics and ad hoc analysis
- Prepare and present the respective P&L and BS for each segment and entity monthly.
- Manage & co-ordinate monthly and annual/long-term forecasts/budgets covering P&L and balance sheet for review by Area Leaders, EURAF Finance Leader and Regional Management team.
- Prepare and present the respective EURAF governance pack for each entity monthly.
- Manage the cash flows forecast for each respective unit within the portfolio to ensure appropriate liquidity is maintained.
- Work closely with corporate team, advisors and Finance team to ensure that group tax leakage is minimised, and number of legal entities are reduced in Europe.
- Supporting the FAR team with internal and external audits covering analytics, impairment reviews and going concern assessment.
Our ideal candidate
- Must hold a mainstream finance qualification with experience in a commercial finance environment.
- Has Knowledge of different BS analytics and costing principles (contribution, gross margin, allocation methods advantages/disadvantages, asset/labour utilization, variance analysis and methods)
- Holds Knowledge of financial analysis for capex project work, DCF, IRR, long term capex projects measurement and analysis
- Experience of IFRS reporting

Location:
The full-time role is based at our Flight Training Centre in Gatwick, West Sussex. We operate a hybrid working approach with minimum 2 days in the office. Occasional travel may be required with overnight stays (although this will not be extensive) and the job role holder must be able to work flexible hours (which may include weekends and/or public holidays) and have the right to live and work in the UK.
