Provides electronics engineering support for assigned National Airspace Systems (NAS). He/she provides resolution to problems related to the introduction of new systems into the NAS through problems associated with continued operation of commissioned facilities; but frequently refers difficult problems and work issues to a manager, program/project manager, team leader, or more experienced engineer when guidelines are not available or applicable.

Applies experience and detailed knowledge of electronic circuits, circuit elements, equipment, systems and electrical information such as communications, navigation, sensing, control and measurements, as it relates to the principles, techniques and practices of electronics engineering, to plan and accomplish assignments involving hardware/firmware/software problems such as modification and modernization to improve the reliability, maintainability, and safety of assigned NAS systems/equipment and facilities.

Follows established NASE processes and supervisory instructions for maintaining systems hardware, firmware, and software and facilities throughout the NAS and tests and recommends changes to national systems baseline configurations. Performs a mixture of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a sub-team manager, program manager, project lead, or more experienced engineer in the identifying and analyzing problems or system malfunctions and supporting the development and implementation of solutions.

As a contributing team member, he/she monitors performance and reliability of systems, analyzes performance and fault information from field facilities to identify causes of system failures and recommends system adjustments or enhancements. Assists in diagnosing and correcting system problems and/or failures. Work involves analyzing user requirements, monitoring systems to correct and prevent problems for optimal performance, and providing customer support for operational NAS systems. Identifies and recommending needs for functional improvements or system enhancements using statistical and empirical information. Uses prescribed guidelines to complete necessary user and technical documentation to support maintenance processes. Follows established change management practices to coordinate changes with affected stakeholders. Results of the work enable user organizations to accomplish mission requirements in the most efficient manner possible.

Assists senior engineers in the development of project plans, budgets, and schedules, identifying resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities and providing progress reports. For small projects, he/she utilizes project management to ensure that each project has a project plan and a budget that is aligned and tracked with the team's budget and goals. Demonstrates some independence in planning time and using assigned resources to perform tasks, complete small projects, and integrate and coordinate work with users and related functions, resolving most routine engineering issues that arise.

Work is reviewed periodically during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and technical compliance with the requirements of the project or other work activity.

As an Aircraft Engine Mechanic, WG-8602-10, you will:

• Remove, install, certify, repair, modify, overhaul, and install turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and related propeller components as required. Perform maintenance on all propulsion systems including troubleshooting and diagnosing defects, certifying, conducting bench checks, performing in-shop and on-equipment repairs and overhaul. Diagnose malfunctions using computerized test equipment, schematic diagrams, technical publications and perform the appropriate repair according to the test results and analysis. Determine the extent of disassembly necessary to repair, overhaul, replace and certify all engine, propeller and auxiliary power unit parts. Clean and inspect engine and propeller component parts such as turbines, gearboxes, blades, gears, bearings, etc. Assemble engines, propellers and auxiliary power units, adhering to prescribed procedures, torque values, safety methods and clearances. Troubleshoot propellers using electric and hydraulic test stands to check for proper operation and evidence of oil leakage. Operationally check engines and propeller assemblies and auxiliary power units, by using the engine test cell facility to meet all full power run checks on the engine and propeller assemblies and auxiliary power units.
• Modify engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) directives; remove and install engine quick change kits; prepare engines for installation and install engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft. Evaluate technical problems of repair, overhaul, modification and installation of aircraft propulsion systems. Solve all types of maintenance problems and perform bench checks and test engine and propeller assemblies for serviceability.
• Perform operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs in accordance with approved checklists. Employ test equipment such as computer borescope, fuel pressure gauges, air pressure gauges, and alignment fixtures. Utilize special tools and precision measuring equipment, high-pressure hydraulic test equipment, and electronic test equipment.
• Perform isochronal and special evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units. Interpret certification findings and determine adequacy of corrective action. Certify installed and repaired engines for compliance with technical publications. Perform fixed and mobile test stand functions (which may include maintenance of engine test cell facility); install special test equipment; perform pre-operational and post operational checks. Operate engines and propellers and record test data. Operate, certify, and maintain computerized engine test/trim automated systems (ETTAS) on the engine test cell. Evaluate, identify and correct problems on propeller and engine components causing vibration or impending failure using the ETTAS system, and vibration analyzer. Evaluate engine and propeller performance by computing engine torque and specific fuel consumption. Monitor engine RPM and turbine inlet temperatures. Evaluate engine and propeller performance and accept or reject the individual components. Remove engine and propeller from test stand and prepare units for aircraft installation or storage. Accomplish operator maintenance on the aircraft and engine sound suppressor facility, test stands and various pieces of ground equipment, including the auxiliary power unit test cell. Perform dynamic propeller balancing and test the propeller integrated synchophasing. Test variable potentiometers, servo-motors, indicators and aircraft wiring.
• Perform aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks. Clear Red X symbol documentation on engine and propeller related components. Prepare man-hour data collection and required forms for input into the Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS) or the G081 (AFI 22-2101, CAMS for Mobility). Review and assist in maintaining Technical Orders (TOs) and other technical publications and directives pertinent to the element. Maintain bench stock, parts, and equipment. Assist the material control function in identifying part numbers and stock numbers for processing and controlling of repair cycle assets. Provide on-the-job training for assigned personnel. Plan and conduct formal classes of instruction in techniques of repair and maintenance of aircraft engine, propeller, auxiliary power unit, and related equipment and in the use of diagrams, blueprints, wiring schematics and technical publications. Evaluate effectiveness of training by observation and through written and oral examinations. Advise supervisor of the experience and skill levels of assigned personnel. Maintain training documentation.

As a Supply Systems Analyst, GS-2003-09, you will perform analysis of supply management procedures, services, and directives.

Major duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Pull stock inventory and material for delivery; replenish stock inventory; interact with clinical and administrative customers and maintain records on stock levels.

This position is located in the Army National Guard (ARNG) Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics (DCSLOG/G4), Distribution Management Division, Plans Policy and Readiness Branch. Its purpose is to develop command logistics guidance and support plans for federal and state missions.

• --Formulates and implements the comprehensive logistics support plans, policies and logistics operations support, based on logistics data and requirements obtained from the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) staff, units, USPFO, NGB and other organizations.
• --Develops, coordinates and implements policies, procedures and requirements for unit deployment, inter-service support agreements as approved by the USPFO, emergency support for civil authorities, training exercises support and environmental compliance. Ensures coordination between units, JFHQ staff, USPFO, NGB and other agencies on command logistics support requirements. Initiates equipment redistribution guidance. Responsible for operation of the logistics operations center to support JFHQ Emergency Operations Center for Federal and State missions.
• --Obtains data from the Unit Status Report and the Material Readiness Report to determine and improve logistics readiness. Consolidates all logistics readiness indicators to formulate an assessment of the command logistics readiness of the state. Develops the Equipment on Hand policy that directs the supply and services officer and (DOL) DCSLOG/G4 to initiate equipment redistribution actions within the command.
• --Develops, staffs and implements logistics plans for material fielding, mission support and mobilization. Receives input from the Surface Maintenance Manager (SMM) regarding the Mission Support Plans to support the material fielding plan. Develops command requirements for new equipment training. Analyzes, directs and provides command logistics guidance to support CTA/TDA/MTOE changes and turn-in of command excess equipment to the USPFO.
• --Serves as the Information Systems/Automation Security Officer, Physical Security Officer and Safety Officer for the directorate, providing technical oversight throughout the shops and activities of the program.
• --Updates Internal Management Control (IMC) Plan projecting 5 years into future for all DCSLOG/G4 branches or activities. Prepares the annual DCSLOG/G4 management controls statement of assurance.
