The appointee’s main responsibilities include collecting, recording and maintaining data for patients and volunteers on research studies. To support research staff in ensuring the completeness, accuracy and consistency of the data in order to meet standards expected for reporting to regulatory bodies.

To provide support in clinical trials such as preparing, handling and processing biological samples, and data management and resolution, in accordance with the clinical trial protocol and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). We currently have an exciting opportunity for a haematology and oncology clinical research nurse.

The Hope Cancer Trials centre research team are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills who is resourceful, organised and a flexible team player with an eye for detail.

This post holder will support our portfolio of haematology and oncology studies. Ideally you will have a good understanding of the principles of clinical research. However, applications from candidates with relevant clinical experience who demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to develop their knowledge and skills in this specialist area will be considered.

Depending on the relevant experience we would offer the role as either a Band 5 or Band 6. The Band 5 will have the opportunity to develop to a Band 6 through the agreed milestones.

Although based at Leicester Royal Infirmary, cross-site working may be required, with the potential to work cross-speciality if required. The successful candidate will be supported by the wider research team, link in with the multi-disciplinary team and have links with other research teams.
