to the development, evaluation, and implementation of Medicare and other health financing policies.
-Overseeing staff that conduct a variety of quantitative and qualitative assessments to estimate the costs, benefits, and impacts of a range of Administration and Congressional initiatives.
-Overseeing the analyses conducted by staff and produced by contractors, including ensuring their methodological rigor, technical accuracy, and the development of research products that effectively communicate analytical results.
-Directing data analysis on a broad range of health services research, evaluation and policy issues.

Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-7. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As an INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH SPECIALIST(JUNIOR INTELLIGENCE ANALYST), you will:

• Identify new and pertinent data and conduct research and data analysis
• Present research and analysis to more senior analysts
• Write products that contribute to larger studies
• Reconcile occasional conflicting data sources
• Prepare organized presentations of studies
• Integrate intelligence data with other financial and economic data to prepare organized presentations of studies or contribute to larger studies as assistants to more senior analysts.

As a(n) HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (R&P), GS-0201-9/11, you will perform but are not limited to the following duties:

Serves as the state's principal advisor and consultant to key management on the full range of staffing options for a variety of professional, administrative, technical, and trades and labor occupations. Provides guidance and advisory services to operating managers in analyzing and proposing solutions to personnel management problems. Has frequent contact with state officials to explain merit principles and the various staffing methods, with emphasis on special interest programs such as Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), employment of the physically handicapped, Stay-in-School, Cooperative Work-Study, Upward Mobility, Worker-Trainee Opportunity, etc. Is relied on by operating officials to provide comprehensive guidance and advice in such areas as recruitment sources for top qualified employees, availability of needed skills, qualification requirements, retention standings, and other staffing functions. Seeks candidates from a variety of sources, conducts interviews and evaluates qualifications and eligibility for positions being filled. Ensures selecting official has a reasonable number of well-qualified candidates from which to choose. Initiates correspondence and/or contacts concerning recruitment and placement of applicants with Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Department of Defense (DoD), National Guard Bureau (NGB), other Federal agencies, high schools, colleges and universities. Researches and prepares replies to Congressional inquires relating to employment. Analyzes and evaluates the state's current technician staffing situation including turnover, vacancies, and current recruiting strategies to identify and forecast staffing problems. Researches and develops solutions and strategies to recruitment and retention problems that integrate a variety of flexibilities. Provides technical assistance to managers in developing justifications for requesting the use of special salary rate, recruitment bonuses, retention allowances or other authorities. Develops Merit Placement Plan and ensures compliance with federal laws (i.e., The Technician Act), NGB Regulations, and local labor agreements. Maintains a tracking system to evaluate the Merit Placement Plan. Initiates and develops changes, which will improve the procedures and make the plan more acceptable to both management and employees. Administers merit promotion plan; provides guidance and assistance to supervisors and/or designated subject-matter experts in the development of job analysis and ranking criteria; prepares announcements and receives applications; determines nature of action and legal authority under which action is to be processed; ensures time-in-grade requirements are met when required; establishes and certifies accuracy of rates of pay for all placement actions in accordance with federal law, OPM and NGB regulations, and Comptroller General decisions. Reviews records to check for dual employment and/or dual compensation. Ensures required selection documentation and information is correct including military compatibility. Checks medical certificates and reports from references; checks security requirements; initiates select/non-select letters, etc. Counsels and registers employees in the DoD Priority Placement Program (PPP) and/or OPM Interagency Placement Assistance Program (ICTAP) as appropriate. Defends recruitment and placement actions taken in accordance with policies, regulations, and procedures in the event of recruitment or placement grievances.

This position is located in the Intelligence Analysis Division, Intelligence Services Bureau, Protective and Intelligence Operations, United States Capitol Police. Provides assistance and/or performs work to facilitate actions for major segments of complex intelligence, investigative and analytical activities for a broad geographical area. Gathers sensitive evidence and intelligence information that aids and enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the United States Capitol Police (USCP) protective security programs and services.

Plans, collects, and analyzes intelligence information from unclassified and classified sources while staying attentive to emerging intelligence sources and trends. Manages the collection of publicly available information in a given geographic region or a specific subject area to meet mission needs using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) including mass media, the internet specialized journals, studies, conference proceedings, geospatial information and more. Provides support and assistance and/or evaluates and interprets incoming intelligence reports and other information vital to the success of the USCP protective and security programs.
Develops and maintains specialized databases, files, and records according to assignment.

Provides administrative support and/or performs comprehensive reviews, evaluations and manages complex intelligence information databases. Provides assistance and/or prepares special security reports and documents on a routine, continual basis.

As a Physical Scientist (Senior R&D Analyst), you will:

- Work with Division Manager, Analysts, Project Managers, external stakeholders, and team members from different areas of expertise to determine appropriate work and test procedures for materials used in currency such as inks, papers, and special substrates.
- Plan and perform investigations to develop new methods and means of validating findings. Isolates unknown and novel conditions to develop methods and assessment techniques.
- Determine data required and personally, or in concert with data review and analysis personnel, determine the accuracy required to permit meaningful statistical interpretation of test results and what degradation may result from poor data.
- Serve as a Designated Laboratory Representative and custodian of laboratory equipment.

As a Research Principal-Interdisciplinary, you will:

• Provide authoritative advice and analytical support to the Deputy Director and/or Associate Director, Research and Analysis Center on key mission-critical issues, initiatives and operations.
• Take the lead or is independently responsible for the initiation, planning, implementation, control, modification and execution of all components of statistical and economic modeling research projects and assignments.
• Develop sophisticated economic and statistical models and computational methods to support OFR research, identification and evaluation of risks to financially stability, and evaluation of financial policies.
• Lead teams of Senior Researchers, Researchers, and Analysts investigating technical requirements to monitor risks to the financial system.
• Collaborate with Data Center staff in selecting and designing software for the modeling and solutions of multi-period stochastic programs, with empirical distributions modeled from simulations.

• Serves as a Social Science Analyst in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), Office of Research, Evaluation, Forensics & Technology (OREFT), Office of Crime Prevention and Youth Justice (OCPYJ).
• Provides scientific oversight of one or more social science research portfolios in OCPYJ, including a variety of program grants, research-based grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
• Acts as a subject matter expert and scientific advisor for a significant segment of a social science or program area with a focus on child protection, delinquency prevention, youth justice systems, school safety, human trafficking, hate crimes, and/or other related content areas.

• You will construct and repair high grade wooden items such as cabinetry, research and experimental devices and decorative woodwork for use in offices, planes, ships, submarines, shops, laboratories and other uses.

• You will report to NRL's Protocol Officer, assisting with overall operational duties of the Protocol office, and serve as back up in the Protocol Officer's absence.
• You will assist in arranging and executing visits by senior officials and foreign dignitaries to include proving NRL senior leadership advice and consultation.
• You will meet with NRL's Commanding Officer and/or Director of Research to discuss agendas for each visit and draft an agenda.

• You will compile guest lists and track RSVPs, prepare folders, collect receipt of clearances, arrange for badges and transportation, escort visitors, reserve visit location, and request IT support.
