Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for USRP based wireless communication system building and corresponding platform programming.

• Have solid background on wireless communication, especially for antenna design and microwave transmission.

• Develop Labview based codes, and implement corresponding algorithms in wireless communication systems.

• Prototyping the SS-CPM/PD-NOMA and FH-SCMA/CD-NOMA algorithms into USRP-2974 with NI Labview and test its efficacy in the lab environment.

About the role
As Senior Research and Development Scientist you will be responsible for:

• Establishing, performing and validating molecular and sequencing techniques including extraction and PCR for detection and profiling of pathogens from human and environmental samples

• Developing quantitative and quality assessment assays to generate nucleic acid material compatible with sequencing technologies and methods 

• Developing and testing, documenting, and promoting new methods and standard operating procedures for points 1 + 2 above

• Conducting laboratory and assay quality control and assurance.

• Leading the writing and publication of manuscripts and reports describing research results, in collaboration with the wider project team 

• Analysing pathogen genomes to identify conserved targets for amplification assays

• Applying knowledge and skills to support the modification and refinement of SOPs, with particular emphasis on scalability and cost-effectiveness.

• Ensuring that all work carried out is in accordance with the institute’s research policies to make sure it is ethical and legal

• Regularly interacting with scientific staff to assess results and troubleshoot complex problems

ROLE SUMMARY

The Internal Medicine Research Unit (IMRU) is committed to finding cures for metabolic diseases and related complications. Our goal is to build a research team of driven scientists focused on developing a deep mechanistic understanding of the metabolic pathways driving obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and renal disease. Apply scientific and technical expertise to drug discovery programs to impact the future of new drug candidate development. The aim is to recruit a scientifically and technically strong research scientist proficient in in vivo and in vitro metabolic research models, with the ultimate goal of developing effective therapies.
 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conceptualize and design experiments.

• Organize and conduct in vitro/ in vivo/ ex vivo studies independently (including preparation, data collection, interpretation, and presentation).

• Maintain awareness of scientific and technical developments in the field.

• Author manuscripts for quality publications in top-tier journals.

• Interface with an interdisciplinary team of scientists in the Internal Medicine Research Unit and engage in both target exploration and driving established projects in our portfolio.

• Experience in obesity-related physiology is required (examples, CNS regulation of energy balance, muscle or adipose metabolism/function).

• Expertise in cell biology and physiology with emphasis on metabolism and signaling pathways is essential.

• Experience working with GPCRs and associated pathways is a plus but not required.

Job Description

• Implements/enhances state-of-the-art quality and reliability systems/programs to support R&D objectives relating to instruments (excluding software).

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is looking for Executive / Senior Executive (Clinical Research Officer) who is self-motivated, proactive in problem solving and a strong team player. The candidate will be part of the Health for Life in Singapore (HELIOS) Study team, a flagship Singapore population health study jointly conducted by LKCMedicine, National Healthcare Group and Imperial College of London. We aim to profile the health and behavior of up to 10,000 people from the general Singapore population over the next few years. The scope of the study is segmented into (1) surveys on health, lifestyle and dietary habits, (2) physical and functional measurements (e.g. anthropometry, grip strength, exercise test, spirometry, ECG, optical imaging and pulse wave velocity) and (3) investigating biomarkers for chronic diseases. We have just received funding for Phase 2 of the study and are expanding our biobanking team to allow the study to reach out to more people.

The Clinical Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the study, mainly in, but not limited to, the following roles:

• Receive and process biological samples for banking purposes; with accuracy and in a timely manner without compromising sample quality.

• Assist in frozen sample retrieval and sorting.

• Perform nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) extraction and quantification.

• Perform daily routine measurements on analytical systems.

• Monitor quality standards by verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance, running daily quality controls and calibrations.

• Perform general administrative work such as tracking the supply of daily consumables and coordinate with vendors/suppliers on procurement matters.

• Able to commit to rotating shifts; afternoon shifts on weekdays, and on Saturdays.

Training will be provided to level the skillsets needed to perform these roles.

Candidates should have:

• Diploma/degree in biomedical sciences, biotechnology or related fields

• Relevant professional experience with technical laboratory operations (advantage)

• A positive attitude and work ethics, and is a team player

• The ability to learn new skills, which is an essential attribute to succeed in this role

R&D Senior Software Architect – Medical Device / Motion Control (Cambridge, MA)

• Work on a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and experienced medical robotics R&D team, tasked with inventing and launching the next generation of medical solutions for Philips’ Image Guided Therapies business.

• Architect and implement clinical-quality software solutions for a novel medical robot system in a medical-regulated environment with focus on requirements and feature definition, design, implementation, and use of robot software frameworks and multi-arm robot control algorithms; and integration in an Image Guided System.

• Participate in or lead software design discussions and code reviews (both internal and multi-functional) for robotic solutions and workflows; and follow quality & regulatory processes (ISO13485, IEC 62304).

• Join our Robotics team in our state-of-the-art R&D labs located at the Philips Innovation Campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

You're the right fit if:  

• You’ve acquired 10+ years of professional experience developing software for medical devices and preferably for medical robots, as an individual contributor and a team lead with experience in robotic (HW/SW) control system design, integration, debugging, verification, and testing.

• Your skills include expert proficiency in C++, Python, Linux/Windows/RT Oses and experience with common frameworks and libraries (DDS, OpenCV, ROS, QT, WPF, QNX).  You have extensive experience in hands-on design and development and troubleshooting of embedded software and hardware-integrated systems; and relevant design patterns, data structures and architectures for distributed and multi-process RTOS applications.

• You have a MS, or PhD, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

• You are a self-motivated individual with good organizational and time management skills; and a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.  You enjoy a high-paced professional environment but also can excel in individual contributions, as well as team collaboration using agile methodologies.
