The Women’s Health Research Centre (WHRC) at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust / Imperial College London is at the forefront of research aimed at improving outcomes and experiences in women's reproductive health and childbirth.

At the current time, WHRC is looking to appoint a Clinical Research Assistant Practitioner to work on the Generation Study which is sponsored by Genomics England. The study focuses on screening neonates for approximately 200 rare conditions at birth using umbilical cord blood. The postholder will assist with sample collection, data management and registration of participants whilst adhering to the principles of GCP. The role will also involve ordering consumables and supporting the research team with participant recruitment.

The postholder of this new role will work within the WHRC research team and be able to develop specialist research skills with new opportunities in a vibrant and dynamic environment. There may be opportunities to work on a variety of other projects within the areas of gynaecology and maternity and the ideal candidate will have interest in the improvement of women’s health, an enthusiasm to learn, attention to detail and a willingness to work collaboratively.

The post holder will be primarily based at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital but may also be required to work at St Mary’s Hosptial.
• The post holder will support the co-ordination and management of clinical research projects, collaborating with key personnel throughout the trust and network to ensure continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials.
• The main focus of the role will be in supporting the delivery and development of the research portfolio through identification of suitable participants, co-ordination, recruitment, performance and maintenance of study documentation.
• The post holder will ensure that any research undertaken safeguards the well-being of research participants and is conducted to ICH Good Clinical Practice.

You'll be working for an international firm specialising in tracing missing and unknown beneficiaries to unclaimed estates, property, and assets worldwide. The main aim of the position is to support the companies' researchers in the quest to find long lost heirs and beneficiaries through archive research. Job overview

The North London Mental Health Partnership, [the Partnership of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I)] have exciting opportunities for 3 x full time Band 5 Clinical Research Assistants, based within the Research & Development (R&D) team, C & I. The team works in collaboration with colleagues at BEH offering support across both trusts’ to the ongoing portfolio of clinical research studies. We are currently supporting a range of mental health, dementia, neurodegenerative, and other related studies, offering assistance with coordinating and delivering clinical research activity.

It’s expected that applicants will have some working knowledge and understanding of clinical research, but this post is an opportunity to build on their existing knowledge and experience within a research setting.

The post holder will be expected to take a proactive role in the research infrastructure to support commercial and non-commercial studies across C&I. This includes: working with clinical services, to identify, screen, and recruit potential study participants; Carrying out study baseline, follow up, and monitoring visits, with study participants, to collect study specific data and ensure that the research undertaken in the Trust is of the highest standard and in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice and other relevant guidelines.


Main duties of the job
• To recruit suitable participants to CRN: North Thames Portfolio of studies; in Mental Health, Dementia and Neurodegenerative disorder, and Neurological studies within a range of care settings.
• To adhere to defined processes for study set-up, delivery of the research and study closedown while striving to improve the performance of the division against national and local targets and objectives.
• To implement agreed courses of corrective action where deadlines and metrics are not being met or are at risk.
• To implement research protocols, under the supervision of the Research Consultants or R&D Director
• To identify good performance and good news stories for feedback and promotion to stakeholders
• To develop and maintain knowledge of partner organisations’ services and resources in order to identify potential recruitment sites for research.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the clinical research team across the region, liaising with other CRN delivery staff to problem solve and share ideas and best practice.
• The post holder will be required to travel across North London to meet the needs of the service.
• The ability or willingness to learn phlebotomy.
