Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Supervisor works with the DC inventory teams and key distribution leadership daily to implement and enforce inventory control systems and processes.  

Job Responsibilities: (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)

• Effectively utilizes and ensures compliance with BD’s inventory control and warehouse management systems.

• Turns strategy into executable, operational actions and achieves desired KPI results. 

• Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) of inventory control.

• Develop and implement inventory analysis tools and metrics that will optimize service, cost, and inventory levels.

• Lead and manage the daily operations of the inventory team.

• Lead/participate in cross functional teams focused on optimizing/reducing key inventory levels throughout the supply network while meeting/exceeding customer service expectations.

• Ensures departmental procedures, SOPs, and work instructions are updated and training provided to associates as required. Ensures all associates follow C2C training guidelines.

• Plans work schedules and assigns duties to maintain adequate staffing levels; ensures activities are performed effectively and is able to manage fluctuating workloads.

• Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures; resolves personnel problems and complaints or refers them to higher-level management for resolution.

• Conducts staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics such as safety, quality, policy changes, etc.

• Responsible for following and monitoring/correcting associates in Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in the SOP’s and work instructions.

• Ensures safety first environment and adherence to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses. 

• Assesses the level of talent in key positions and implements development and mentoring activities to promote organizational growth.

• Become knowledgeable of the responsibilities of the other positions to assist in times of urgency, breaks, absences, or vacation.

• Must be able to work a flexible shift and weekends as business requirements dictate.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferred; or

  • Associate degree and 2+ years related experience; or

  • High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years related work experience, required.

• Minimum of 2+ years supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment.

• Operational experience in FDA, OSHA, GMP/QSR compliance, CPIM, Logistics or Distribution, Import/Export, Process Excellence, Lean and ISO, preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Operational experience in FDA, OSHA, GMP/QSR(QMS?) compliance, CPIM, Logistics or Distribution, Process Excellence, Lean and ISO. 

• Must have knowledge of inventory and warehouse management systems, i.e. JDE, High Jump and MFG-Pro systems. 

• Knowledge of inventory control techniques. 

• Proficient in MS Office Suite 

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  

• Strong people leadership including developing, coaching, listening, collaborating, and delegating. 

• Project management skills.  

• Ability to critically review, analyze, compare, and interpret information and apply this when solving problems. 

• Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments at all levels.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. Procurement Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Identify, manage, escalate, and mitigate supply-based risks throughout the procurement life cycle in support of prime contract requirements, operational goals, and business strategy by effectively partnering with other functional groups such as Legal, Contracts, Compliance, Risk Management, or Finance. Create and issue requests for proposals. Evaluate supplier proposals. Conduct pricing analysis and bill of materials. Negotiate non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, license agreement, terms, and conditions. Create small business subcontracting plans, flowing down appropriate prime contract and agency regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

• Transports finished products from manufacturing to pre-sterile or shipping areas.

• Determines raw material requirements, retrieves materials from the correct location, completes the appropriate issuing transactions and delivers to Manufacturing.

• Verifies the correct count before and after selecting materials from a location.  Maintains license plates in current locations (as needed).

• Deliver molded components to Raw Material Warehouse.

• Scan materials to storage locations in warehouse

• Keeps aware of the daily schedule and organizes raw materials for current and new orders to be run on the next shift.

• Cycle counts raw materials to maintain accuracy of raw material inventory.  Reports discrepancies to the Receiving Coordinator.

Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Sr. Regional Procurement Director with dot line support to the Director of Operational Excellence leader, the purpose of the Procurement Director is to develop partnerships with the business unit as well as client leaders and ensure Procurement resources are aligned and executing Procurement strategies.  This role serves as a senior leader of the Procurement team with regular access and exposure to executives throughout the company in order to advocate for Procurement objectives and critical Procurement-related activities.   A primary responsibility of this position is to build strong partnerships and relationships with leadership as well as the client procurement team.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Follows standard operating procedures to assess inventory levels, submit orders, and audit warehouse operations to facilitate successful operational activities within the warehouse.

Job Summary
The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations supervises a team of Outbound Associates and ensures that pick, pack, and ship operations (Outbound) are safe, efficient, and of high quality. With responsibility for a night shift, the Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues. The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health’s customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage a team of 30-50 warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of products and motivate employees to ensure that predetermined productivity and quality standards including cycle times, lines per hour, shortages, damaged units, missed dispatches, and missed scans, among others are achieved
• Monitor site productivity standards and hold associates accountable to daily, weekly, monthly metrics; provide timely feedback and initiate corrective action process when needed
• Adhere to budgetary guidelines, and work to meet Distribution Center objectives and operational goals while maintaining standards pertaining to quality and inventory
• Responsible for continuous improvement projects and initiatives (ex. Gemba walks, Kaizen workshops, takt boards, etc)
• Perform daily scheduling of the work force to ensure proper staffing to select, replenish, restock, locate and ship merchandise in a productive and cost-efficient manner
• Coordinate maintenance of equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance and coordinating all necessary repairs

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the onsite services supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Irvine, CA

Shifts: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm

Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $24.00

What we’re looking for  

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required  
• Experience: 2 - 4 years equivalent experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service.
• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred   
• Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know a plus
• Cross-referencing and inside sales experience are a plus
• Forklift certification is a plus
• Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum
• Valid Driver’s License and transportation

 

How you will thrive and create an impact  

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Facilitate orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment; enter orders into computer systems, Web, etc.
• Receive inbound shipments from UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers and resolve all shipping errors.
• Manage customer’s warehouse inventory including delivery product replenishment (may require driving between facilities to deliver product).
• Perform additional inventory management-related functions such as monitoring slow-moving and dead stock, conducting cycle counting and yearly inventories, reporting, etc.
• Handle shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material (including hazardous materials), answering customer calls, handling routine issues, operating a hand jack and forklift, entering relevant shipping information into the computer system, and maintaining inspections on safety stations and equipment.
• Responsible for handling hazardous material and preparing shipping documentation and packaging requirements.
• Interface directly with customer POC, responsible for managing consigned, non-consigned, customer-owned, and 3rd party inventory onsite at the customer location.
• Support multiple clients in a geographic area.
• Utilize VWR and basic computer systems (ESS, Citrix, Info Access, Intranet, StockTracker, ChemSW, and customer-specific ERP systems as well as shipping systems) in fulfillment of job duties.
• Document SPI Requests.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$47,000.00 - $77,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
