Ferguson is currently seeking an entry level Warehouse Associate to join our team!

Hours are Sunday - Thursday 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Pay rate is $22.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a stand-up forklift (order selector/cherry picker) to pull and prepare outbound customer orders.
• Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages.
• Use technology like RF devices to sort, scan, and prepare orders.
• Accurately and timely receive, verify, stage and stock all incoming material.
• Clean the workspace as you go and participate with the team in keeping our facility clean, safe, and accident free.
• Be responsible for providing driver duties and responsibilities

Qualifications

• Valid CA state issued license is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Possession of a DOT Medical Card or the ability to acquire a DOT Medical Card
• 0-3 years warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, delivery, or inventory management is preferred.
• High attention to detail.
• Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment.
• Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic.
• Self-starter with ability to learn our systems quickly.
• Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
• Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50lbs regularly.

Position Overview

Job Description

You will contribute by:

• Ensure accuracy of work and adherence to production and safety standards
• Utilize necessary pick sheet or technology (e.g. voice, scanner) to select product.
• Operate double walkie-rider or pallet jack to remove case(s) of product from storage rack and place on pallet and stick selection labels to the appropriate cases (not in all cases)
• Move pallet on an electric pallet jack or walkie-rider until full or order is complete then transport pallets to shipping dock for delivery to retail stores.
• Use proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damage and inform supervisor of any differences in case quantity and/or description.
• Write store number on pallets. (not in all cases)
• Use battery hoist and change battery, if necessary
• Keep work area clean
• Complete equipment inspection form
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Title:

Under limited direction, Executes cradle to grave purchasing activities (including bid, evaluate, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, price and schedule negotiations) for a specific category group across all projects.  

•    Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.

•    Drive cost reduction initiatives in a specific Category/Project group.

•    Understand, track, and forecast the key cost drivers and market factors for assigned Category/Project group.

•    Identify corrective actions and measures in case of quality or schedule issues with suppliers

•    Works closely with Engineering and the projects

•    Assures that problems will reported timely to the projects and senior procurement management

•    Help locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future Category/Project needs.

•    Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement

•    Provide input to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process, procedures and tools

•    Conducts the orderly closeout of Procurement operations, including settlement of claims and back-charges, and resolving punch list items assigned to Procurement

•    Lead price negotiations and for claim negotiations in their Category/Project Group.  

Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 7+ years of Procurement and Supply Chain Management experience in a global EPC company executing contracts in key industries, such as oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, chemical, etc.

•    Experience in purchasing or subcontracts, including bid, evaluate, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, price and schedule negotiations, and commercial strategy.

•   Experience working in a PMC capacity

•    Proven track record in cost reduction programs

•    Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in order to flow goals and directives and effectively communicate commercial solutions and concepts to procurement personnel and non-procurement personnel

•    Ability to work in a complex schedule driven work environment

•    Procurement experience in “lump-sum” business

Reporting to the Corporate Procurement Lead this role oversees and performs the full range of procurement and administration activities associated with procuring of goods and/or services in support of various corporate functional areas.

The individual works within a small team with minimal supervision to:

• Contribute to the development of contracting strategies and advise internal customers on path to maximize the value of business objectives
• Solve complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices.
• Support with vendor registration and onboarding. 
• Ensure new or established vendors meet pre-qualification requirements.
• Develop, issue, and manage solicitation documents such as Request for Information (“RFI’s), Request for Quotes (“RFQ’s) and Request for Proposals (“RFP’s”) etc.
• Analyze bid packages to ensure competitive pricing acquired.  Evaluate bids and proposals, perform and document price reasonableness determination and ensure cost, quality and schedule meets business needs.
• Understand and negotiate the relevant market pricing and achieve cost savings
• Employ a full range of contract terms and conditions to protect company from risk and liability.
• Actively negotiate contract terms and conditions and work with internal requisitioners’ to fulfill business needs, and budgetary and compliance requirements.
• Understand and apply audit standards, which include company policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform close outs of contracts, finalize financial records, and complete vendor performance evaluations
• Use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.
• Ensure best practices are implemented.
• Maintain Agreement files in accordance with established company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with executives, functional management, coworkers, and vendor representatives.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proven record in commercial terms negotiation and cost reduction.
• Proactive and self-motivated team player with proven record of collaborating for success.
• Experience with e-procurement tools including SAP/ Deltek Costpoint is preferred.
• A working knowledge of the various types of contracts, including Cost Reimbursable, Firm Fixed Price and Time and Material types.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of SharePoint Online a plus.
