This post is a key position in the general management structure in the division providing support to the Divisional Director and Divisional Director of Operations for Surgery, Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Associate Services (SACCAS).

Reporting to the Divisional Director of Operations, the General Manager will be responsible for the operational leadership, delivery and performance of services in line with expected objectives, Policies and governance processes for service and clinical quality, business planning, financial (Income & Expenditure) plans and budget management. The Professional Support Services team within the Office of the Chief Medical Officer at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS foundation trust wishes to appoint a Deputy Manager for the Professional Support Services team, which support and deliver the Revalidation, Job planning and appraisal function of the CMO office. The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service.

The Deputy Manager - Professional Support Services is responsible for managing robust and effective systems and processes to support the deliveryof the suite of professional support and development services delivered by the CMO Office, including medical appraisal, job planning, performance based awards schemes and other workforce related programmes of work.

As a key member of the service delivery team within the office, the post holder will manage a comprehensive and high quality project and service function in line with national policy requirements while continuing to meet the changing needs of the Trust’s medical and dental professionals. • To Control and count stock, order (as/if required) and issue cleaning materials ensuring stock rotation and safety in storage
• Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and Company regulations, wearing company uniform and PPE as specified and ensuring Cleaning Operatives do the same. Report as necessary any uniform requests / PPE requirements to the Residence Manager.   
• To assist with any special duties, some of which may occur outside normal hours
• Respond positively to feedback by proactively reviewing processes, procedures and practices to ensure that the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders are met
• Pay close attention to the details and complete the cleaning tasks on your scheduled list.
• Make sure the workplace's common areas, kitchens, and restrooms are spotless.
• Restock essentials and supplies such as hand gels and toilet paper
• Be a champion of health and safety practices

What you bring:

• Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of cleaning solutions and their uses

To act as first point of contact on behalf of the consultant and the Trust and deal effectively and courteously with all enquiries from GPs, patients, other departments within the Trust and all other departments. To type all clinical letters, including those of a sometimes distressing or emotional nature, from audiotape or direct dictation as agreed. To organise and service meetings on behalf of the Consultant and the Consultants team, taking and distributing minutes as required. To deal with all telephone calls relating to the service, ensuring patient focus is maintained and enquiries are handled in a courteous, tactful and prompt manner, and respecting patient confidentiality at all times. To prioritise and process incoming correspondence and ensure that it is dealt withpromptly by the appropriate member of staff. To ensure that investigation reports are brought to the attention of the appropriate medical team and signed off by the appropriate member of staff. Arrange for the request and/or safe onward transmissions of patient investigation reports and film to other sites where necessary. To maintain filing systems that facilitates the effective running of the department. To use the appropriate IT system for checking patient information and appointments. To manage patient records appropriately, ensuring an up-to-date record is maintained ofall case notes returned from the wards and clinics, that patient case notes are available for clinics and appointments and are dispatched to other departments or hospitals as necessary.
