We are a mixed 11-18 comprehensive Academy with approximately 1,600 students on roll, including a thriving and successful Sixth Form. On intake our students are of a level of prior attainment significantly above that of the national average. Professional Working and Learning Environment

Our school was among those named as part of a £2billion Government scheme, the Priority Schools Building Programme. As a result, Goffs received a completely new build and facilities, and moved into them in January 2017. The school has further invested in an additional new building, which opened in April 2022, which includes 8 brand-new classrooms, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness centre run by Lifestyle Fitness, with whom we work in close partnership.

The Generations Multi Academy Trust

GMAT is a cross-phase Multi Academy Trust based in Cheshunt, currently comprising two secondaries and one primary - Goffs, Goffs-Churchgate and Flamstead End School. It is our hope that a further primary, Andrews Lane School, will join our partnership from November 2024. Across the piece, GMAT currently has just under 3,000 students in its care and employs just under 400 staff. From Spring 2023, the MAT opened nursery provision on the Goffs-Churchgate site, with subsidised and term-time only places for staff. Flamstead End School is a thriving primary school in Cheshunt with approximately 485 children on roll. It has a Preschool, 60-place nursery offering 30 hours provision and two classes per year group from Reception to Year 6. Flamstead End is a 'Therapeutic Thinking' school and seeks to understand and support children's behaviour so that they are able to learn and achieve to the best of their ability. The school is a tight knit community, with a well-established staff who care for one another and the children in their charge.

Goffs-Churchgate is a fully mixed comprehensive school for 11-16 year olds, with just over 600 students on roll. The school has rightly established a very strong reputation for both its academic outcomes and its close-knit, nurturing community, receiving over 600 applications for 120 places for 2024 admission. The decision to cap student numbers at 600 is entirely deliberate, enabling us to maintain a strong sense of community where everybody knows everybody else.

All of our schools enjoy extremely high levels of applications and are over-subscribed. The schools are within close proximity of each other and share many activities, including CPD for staff. One of the Trust’s fundamental principles is that no one school is in any way more important or successful than the other. As such, CPD and other events are rotated through schools in the Trust, with everyone learning from and sharing with each other. This collegiate and collaborative approach permeates our Trust.

Outcomes

Exam results in 2024 reflect another year of huge success for Goffs. The results reflect a 3 year upward trend and an impressive improvement on the excellent outcomes achieved across the headline measures last year.

GCSE highlights include:

• Extremely strong progress scores across the headline measures with results considerably above the national average (Estimated progress 8 score: 0.24)
• Particularly impressive outcomes in English and Maths; both subjects achieved a progress score significantly above the national average. English Language performed particularly strongly at grade 4+ and grade 5+ exceeding the national average of students achieving these grades by 20%. Maths performed particularly strongly at the top end with 28% of students achieving grade 7+. This is very comfortably above the national average of 17%.
• 72% of students achieved grade 4 or above in English and Maths (6% above the national average).
• 52% of students achieved grade 5 or above in English and Maths (6% above the national average).
• 21% of the GCSE grades were at grade 7 or above.
• The percentage of students entering the full Ebacc was 64% which is significantly above the national average of 39%, and the Hertfordshire average of 47%.

At A-Level, continuing the upward trend of recent years, students achieved another excellent set of exam results, including an overall 100% pass rate. 64% of Year 13 students secured a university or college place to start in autumn 2024. The wide range of university or further education courses onto which students have progressed include Law, History, Geography, Maths, Finance, Physics and Biomedical Science, other students have gained places on fiercely competitive apprenticeships in areas such as Civil Engineering and within the NHS. Our Sixth Form has an excellent reputation in the local area, over the past three years the numbers of students applying to join our Sixth Form has continued to increase, such that we now have approximately 400 Sixth Formers within our school community.

Community

Goffs prides itself on its sense of community – both within the school itself, and in the wider locality. Visitors to our school unfailingly comment on a very real sense of community, coupled with warmth and pride. We are members of Cheshunt Extended Services (ChExS), offering a variety of extended school and community based activities for both students and parents. Our students actively support local charity work such as the Isabel Hospice and the Rainbow Trust, and maintain strong links with our local primary schools. In addition, our young Sports Leaders regularly work in primary schools. Goffs runs a ‘G-Involved’ Volunteering programme, where every Sixth Form student completes 20 hours volunteering during the course of the academic year. We firmly believe in every student feeling a strong sense of community and on entering the school, each student is placed in one of four Houses: Eagle, Falcon, Hawk and Phoenix. Goffs believes in supporting and nurturing all students in their quest to become successful learners. As such, we place a high value on pastoral care as an integral part of the life of the school.

Staff Development

The Trust has an extremely strong reputation for staff development, for both teaching and support staff. Developing the next generation of school leaders, both middle and senior, plus future Headteachers for those who wish to pursue this, is a responsibility that we take very seriously. We have a full suite of staff leadership development which staff can join be they an ECT or highly experienced colleague.

In addition to whole staff training days, we disaggregate a number of hours for training every year. This allows staff development to be highly personalised as staff can opt for the training which best meets their needs, including the opportunity to do a research project in partnership with Cambridge University. Many use their disaggregated time to coach others or to receive coaching. Moreover, there are specific training sessions for ECTs and other interested staff which run each week after school.

We also place a lot of emphasis on ‘on the job’ training and support. A thorough induction scheme is available to all new staff, and mentors/buddies are assigned to guide you through those new routines. Finally, external courses can of course be booked if, on very rare occasions, we cannot cater for a particular training need in house.

Leadership Development

The Trust’s Leadership Academy encompasses both staff and student leadership development through a series of student led groups and staff leadership pathways. The staff programme specifically provides opportunities for:

About the Role:

This is a key role within the Convatec Technology & Innovation (T&I) team, a group that spends $100M+ annually to discover, design, build, and launch the products that will enable the company’s future success. As the R&D Portfolio Strategy Manager, you will play a key role in helping to set the strategic direction for the Convatec innovation and new product development portfolio. You will be a trusted partner across the T&I organization to help Convatec understand where to place strategic bets on new products to drive sustainable business results.

This role will report to the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy and will work very closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Set the direction for the Convatec T&I Portfolio

• Work with the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy, CTO, and T&I Leadership Team to help set the investment priorities for the development of new products
• Suport the strategy development and prioritization of the entire Convatec portfolio of R&D, medical/clinical, and regulatory work through the development and use of various tools and KPIs
• Conduct analyses that will help the T&I team understand the value of the Convatec innovation portfolio and make key prioritization decisions
• Evaluate project investment scenarios, identify issues, develop hypotheses and communicate insights and recommendations to key decision-makers
• Support the Convatec Technology & Innovation (T&I) strategy plan
• Coordinate and drive the innovation portfolio planning process with the help of the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy as well as a wide range of internal stakeholders
• Conduct research and analyses on a wide variety of internal and external-facing topics and make recommendations to help Convatec focus on the resources on the most valuable activities

Engage the T&I team to advance our strategy

• Work with team members across T&I and other functions to help drive the implementation of strategic initiatives and report out on progress to leadership
• Help R&D project teams develop and review project business cases that will yield optimal return for Convatec. Review business cases with T&I leadership team and executive team to validate project viability and prioritization
• Work with Finance to ensure that our overall portfolio strategy is consistent with available resources and support the creation of investment scenario analyses
• Proactively engage innovation project teams to understand progress and update portfolio planning analytics as needed
• Facilitate discussions between the T&I team and business unit finance business partners to ensure that our innovation portfolio will meet business unit financial ambitions

• Work with T&I leadership to develop report-out materials for periodic review by executive leadership, including CEO, CFO
• Support the production of communication materials for the Board of Directors
• React to executive-level feedback with timely and thoughtful analyses and recommendations

• Build relationships with the T&I stakeholders in many functions, including R&D, medical/clinical, and regulatory, as well as with other stakeholders across Convatec, including Marketing, Finance, and Corporate Development / Corporate Strategy, to understand the key portfolio needs for Convatec, drivers of success, and risks to our new product development plans
• Help drive principles of analysis-based portfolio planning across the broad Convatec T&I community

About You:

Skills & Experience:

• Strategic, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to conduct research and analyses, understand interactions between multiple factors, develop recommendations, and communicate insights to stakeholders
• Competency in developing executive communication materials, e.g., PowerPoint, white papers
• Ability to work and communicate with a wide range of functional stakeholders
• Ability to see the “big picture”, with attention to detail where necessary
• Financial modeling capabilities, including DCF modeling, NPV/IRR analysis, and scenario modeling
• Industry experience in Medtech, Pharma, or other Life Sciences is a plus

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in engineering, math, or science discipline
• Minimum of 5+ years' total experience with experience in corporate strategy and/or project-based finance
• Strategy consulting background (3+ years)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mail Services includes metering, sorting, and distributing mail and accountable packages per schedule
• Copy Services includes accurately producing copy, print, and scan projects per written instructions
• Reception includes answering incoming telephone calls and routing to the appropriate person, will greet and announce visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Hospitality Services includes coordination and upkeep of client conference rooms, common areas and kitchens. Inspect and ensure that all rooms are clean, stocked with supplies and ready for continual use. Organize and distribute client kitchen supplies. Maintain inventory control and order supplies as needed
• Floor Coordination includes the upkeep of copy rooms and stocking of general supplies, delivery of paper, and basic daily maintenance
• Facilities Services may include hanging pictures, small office moves, cleaning services and communication with key client contacts regarding building/equipment concerns

About the role

We seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for planning and coordinating multiple assigned facility maintenance outages. This individual will work closely with their assigned facilities to create detailed task driven work plans and to develop these into an overall Primavera P6 Schedule which will be coordinated with other outage planners to ensure consistency across the fleet. They will assign appropriate resources in coordination with the facility and track pre-execution/post-outage progress as well as lessons learned for reporting purposes. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with the facility and the outage project managers to support the progress of the planning effort and execution.
 

What You'll Do:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Report to the Regional Maintenance Manager

• Coordinate the regional master outage schedule with consideration of client needs, Power Purchase Agreements, Service Agreements, client fiscal years and Turbine Generator outages.
• Collaborate with assigned facility Maintenance Planners on outage schedules, while ensuring no regional overlaps occur.
• Work directly with procurement, regional resources, and management to develop and continuously improve the Outage Readiness Index (ORI) process
• Maintain open communications with Operations concerning all maintenance-related topics, including to all department heads and staff.
• Interface with Procurement and facilities to secure and maintain competent and competitive vendors.
• Develop and monitor outage scopes of work with field-based personnel based on the LTMP process.
• Contribute to the completion of Post Outage Summaries with improvement actions forward.
• Identify any changes in cost and schedule forecast as well as balance resources for producing or delivering project deliverables.
• Assist in coordinating and facilitating the Long-Term Maintenance Plan review and revision as part of the annual budgeting process.
• Complete Project Progress, Status reports and other required reports.
• Mentor and promote development of the NJ Planners and Maintenance Managers

What You'll Bring:

REQUIREMENTS (Education, Skills, Certificate, Licenses, Experience):

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial boiler/pressure part construction, maintenance, and repairs.
• A high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read and understand instructions, training, safety, health-related materials, and work rules.
• Proficient oral and written communications skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills both to represent the company to external parties as well as work with many and diverse interested parties within the company.
• Advanced understanding of EfW plant equipment, operations, and hazards including the effects of changing plant conditions.
• Working knowledge of computerized Maintenance Management systems and how they interact across all aspects of Covanta business.  Proficiency in Covanta’s current system is a plus.
• Ability to learn Covanta financials and how they are used to plan, budget, and forecast Maintenance spend, both Expense and CapEx.
• Prior supervisory or lead responsibility experience regarding job set up, labor management and progressing work to owner/ client.
• Strong computer skills, primarily with Microsoft Office products. Specific experience using MS Projects, Primavera or similar planning program.
• Ability to read and understand design drawings/ shop fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge/ experience of Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The ability to travel approximately 20-30% is a requirement of this role
• Ability to participate in Covanta training and obtain certifications to allow for site visits allowing free unattended access to all parts of facilities and be qualified to enter the boiler train during an outage.

Position Summary: 
This Director level role will lead process optimization and change management efforts across Customer Onboarding.  The individual will partner with the Vice President of Customer Onboarding, and the Executive Director leadership team to identify and execute optimization efforts, including process, organizational design and technology initiatives.  They will work with Operations leaders to establish best-in-class processes and innovate the overall Onboarding experience for athena customers.  The Director of Process Optimization will build and lead a team of process optimization experts that can partner across Customer Onboarding to mine opportunities and drive improvements proactively. This role will work with process owners, subject matter experts and leadership to continuously improve quality standards and productivity by utilizing process improvement methodologies (i.e. Lean and Six Sigma) to measure, improve and ensure the robustness and scalability of processes.

Typical Qualifications

SNV is supporting the management and delivery of the Climate Resilient Coffee Farming in Vietnam. This is a five-year project sponsored by Tchibo with the objectives of promoting climate resilient coffee farming in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. We are seeking qualified candidate for Field Officer – based in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak - to support the implementation of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance and leadership of the Project Manager (PM), the Field Officers (FO) will support the overall implementation of the project, working closely with local government project partners, key stakeholders and local communities. Specific roles/tasks:

• Establishing & strengthening relationships: The FO will support and strengthen collaborative working relationships with key partners to ensure smooth implementation, including with: government agencies at provincial, district and grassroots levels, as well as with other key relevant partners and stakeholders such as companies, other development partners/projects, NGOs and local communities.
• Confirming the selection of project areas, identification and organisation of beneficiaries & participation of project partners: A key part of setting up the project (and as the project expands in scope during implementation) will require the FO to support the PM by conducting surveys and field consultations to confirm which districts, communes, villages and farmers will participate in the project, as well as how farmer groups are organised to receive trainings and other support from the project. The FO will also work with local stakeholders such as agricultural extension service centres and/or other potential extension service providers on how training and capacity building is delivered through the project.
• Developing detailed activity implementation plans: Overall work plans are developed by the PM; however, the FO needs to develop detailed implementation plans with implementing partners such as agricultural extension service centres.
• Organizing project activities/field work: The FO will organize project activities and field work (such as trainings, farm demonstration activities, agricultural extension/farmer coaching visits, study tours) activities with local partners and communities on the ground. This may involve basic administrative tasks such as preparing permission letters, identifying venues for workshops, or other suppliers of goods/services that the project may need in line with relevant SNV procedures and cost norms under guidance by the PM.
• Supporting implementation: Implementation is mainly expected to be carried out by project delivery partners such as agricultural extension service centres. However, the FO will also conduct training of trainers, support the implementation of field activities, including accompanying consultants and other project staff on field visits, supporting facilitation of events, acting as a resource person, farm coach and even trainer or supporting other project activities in the field. Some activities could also be implemented directly by SNV. Accounting, financial management and reporting Under guidance from the Project Administrator completing basic project financial accounting, monitoring and reporting tasks.
• Monitoring of activities: It is expected that a considerable volume of the farmer training and coaching is to be implemented by project partners such as local agricultural extension service centres. Thus, a key part of the FO role relates to the monitoring of field activities – ensuring they have been implemented as planned and ensuring quality standards of delivery. FO will report on any issues, challenges/risks to the PM.
• Other relevant tasks as assigned by PM: There may be other administrative, logistical or monitoring tasks assigned by the PM for the effective planning, management, implementation and/or monitoring of project activities in the field.
