Genomics Quality Assessment (GenQA) is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Marketing and Business Officer. GenQA is a member of the UK National External Quality Assessment Service (UK NEQAS) consortium and is an international organisation facilitating optimal patient care by providing comprehensive assessments for the wide range of activities involved in the delivery of genomic services. This is an exciting opportunity to join GenQA which comprises of two centres; one based in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the second in NHS Lothian, Edinburgh, with the flexibility of remote working. GenQA is a global, well-established and accredited EQA provider within the field of genomic diagnostic testing.
Applicants are invited to join the team of scientific staff, administrative and quality managers. This newly created position will contribute towards the strategic planning and implementation of short and long term marketing projects. The post holder will liaise closely with GenQA staff and with the necessary agencies and businesses required to maintain and develop the GenQA global brand presence. The role will include analysis and written presentation of EQA data/participant information and identifying opportunities for process improvement. You will also be required to perform EQA quality control procedures and maintain accurate records using commercial and bespoke computer databases (full training will be provided).
Applicants should have a degree-level background in marketing, advertising and/or project management with appropriate IT skills to support the role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be required to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, along with attention to detail and commitment to quality management.
• Plan, implement and manage short and long term marketing projects to promote GenQA services across the world
• Tailor the marketing approach to further develop awareness of GenQA services in projects targeting particular service developments or under-subscribed areas to attract new service users
• Provide the necessary administrative and clerical support including relevant advice to participants and key stakeholders as necessary
• Provide quality management support as required

Marketing
1. To contribute to strategic planning and manage/monitor specific short, medium and long term marketing projects under the direction of the Quality Manager(s). To manage and supervise staff performing specific tasks within these projects.
2. To source opportunities (e.g., national and international events, conferences, professional society meetings etc) for the promotion of GenQA (laboratory EQA) and GENie (individual competency) services.
3. To utilise marketing expertise to prepare appropriate promotional material e.g., social media posts, information leaflets, websites etc.. Liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation (GenQA Director, EQA leads) as well as designers/printers and/or external marketing agencies and/or UK NEQAS central office as required.
4. To maintain and manage user accounts for various marketing platforms and ensure accuracy, continuity and consistency of messaging (wording and terminology) across these platforms and associated activities.
5. To train staff in the use of marketing platforms as required.
6. To write/contribute to other marketing material such as press releases.
7. To source marketing and promotional material for conferences and meetings.
8. To collate marketing data for presentations.
9. To oversee stock management of promotional materials and stand equipment for conferences.
10. To assist with national and international meeting/workshop organisation and logistics as required.
11. To market the goods and services of GenQA both internally to staff and/or externally at international meetings, as required.
12. To maintain and update the GenQA website as directed. This will include ensuring all information posted on the website is accurate, professional and information on the site is regularly updated. To liaise with relevant staff at all levels to deliver this.
13. To prepare internal and external educational presentation documentation templates for webinars, workshops and other educational events and submit documentation to continued professional development (CPD) Services to obtain CPD accreditation for these events.
Business and quality control analysis
1. To perform EQA quality control and administrative procedures and record keeping using a range of commercial and bespoke computer databases as directed by the Quality Managers.
2. To collate, evaluate and present complex EQA data/anonymised participant information for various activity summary reports and/or other publications as required. Following evaluation, highlight areas of GenQA operations that may benefit from streamlining and propose changes to practice.
3. To prepare and communicate business sensitive information for the monthly Quality Newsletter for dissemination to all GenQA staff.
4. To follow up Expert Advisor documentation and assist in the administration of Expert Advisors on Q-Pulse.
5. To manage the regular review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other documentation on the Q-Pulse quality management system. Bring to the attention of the Quality Managers any documents that need revision or review. Develop and streamline the associated processes.
6. Perform Scheme audits (both EQA and Office) in line with the Audit timetable and Quality Manager’s requirements.
7. To undertake general proof-reading of Scheme documentation as required.
8. To deputise for the Quality Managers as required.

3. To maintain and improve professional knowledge, skills and competence to ensure the delivery of evidence based practice in line with Professional Standards and local priorities.
4. To comply with the visual display regulations.
5. To manage enquiries by email, telephone or in person in a polite and efficient manner.
6. To adhere to the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (host Trust) Policies and Procedures at all times. To be conversant with fire evacuation procedures and the confidentiality policy of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Host Trust).

9. The post holder will attend any areas of further development as suggested in the personal development plan (PDP).
