The Role

As a Wave Planner, you release orders to the Work Management System (WMS), on an hourly basis. The Wave Planner also, ensures departments have consistent orders to fulfill the production day. The Wave Planner drops orders in a strategic way to ensure that service level is met. Sends daily orders and communicates with other departments. Monitors order progress via the High Jump software. May interact with customer service department to plan and effectively execute production, shipping, compliance account structure, and meet ship windows.  

The Wave Planner is also cross trained in other departments to assist and support in a as needed basis. This includes, but not limited to administration duties for the Distribution Center. Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with peers, superiors, auditors, and others.  Always represent the company in a positive and supportive manner.

Your Impact 

• Coordinate and manage daily outbound waves using the WMS Highjump to manage, prioritize, create and release customer order, fulfillment work in consistency to Vendor Compliance routing guides & proper ship methods.
• Coordinate with Distribution management and Customer Service department to resolve customer order issues; process special request, etc.
• Communicate with Warehouse department personnel to investigate inventory allocation issues that arise during the process of creating and releasing waves.
• Develop strategies with Shipping Supervisor to create and release order fulfillment work based on start ship date, cancel date and prioritized orders
• Investigate “aging” waves and cartons and resolve accordingly through HighJump
• Support and assist the distribution center with administration duties.

DUTIES
 

This role is responsible for performing all cathodic protection measurements and data entry. This role assists System Integrity Technicians with ensuring the operational integrity and adequate cathodic protection on both transmission and distribution systems. 

This position is important because Duke Energy’s knowledge of the status of the cathodic protection is based on the CP test readings obtained by the Associate and Technicians.  This position requires a person who is meticulous about maintaining testing equipment calibrations, recording data accurately, assisting technicians in CP deficiency investigation and maintaining clear and accurate data records.  Additionally, it is vital that this person be able to work independently and able to use geospatial technology to perform their work.  The Associate communicates issues discovered during their work to the Technicians and supports them in resolving these issues.  

The System Integrity Technician Associate performs duties such as

• Maintain historical records of all cathodic protection readings and reports.  Input readings into and maintain pipeline compliance system (PCS).
• Assist with performing remedial action by locating, troubleshooting, current interruption and correcting CP deficiencies by implementing remedial activities such as installing anodes, test connections, coating repair and other maintenance work required to maintain adequate level of cathodic protection.
• Assist with coordination excavating crew in locating mains and installation of CP system.
• Assist in coordinating with company crews, utility companies, contractors and subcontractors and other entities in order to gain permits for the installation of CP components & remedial measures. 
• Complete maintenance work orders for any CP repairs.
• Coordinate contractor crew taking annual and periodic CP reads.
• Assist technicians with investigation of “no locates” and CP deficiencies.
• Inspect main/or service line casing for proper insulation and protection.
• Calibrating, servicing and maintaining test equipment's, ensuring they are always in good working condition.
• Update, manage and maintain cathodic protection data for all cathodically protected gas facilities in pipeline compliance system (PCS).
• Retrieving and correcting information obtained from PCS for review as required, such as pipe-to-soil potentials, rectifier and bond readings, investigation and maintenance information etc
• Preparing corrosion reports and field sketches in a format acceptable for entry into GIS system (eGIS) and PCS.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have high school diploma or GED AND must have  taken high school algebra, chemistry or physics.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must demonstrate a good mechanical, mathematical and electrical aptitude.
• Must pass an examination as specified by the department for entrance into this job classification.
• Must complete basic level corrosion training such as AUCSC Appalachian underground corrosion short course training or equivalent within one year of job entry.
• Must attain CP Tester NACE certification (Level 1) within two years of job entry.
• Ability to develop general understanding of company policies and departmental procedures.
• Must be capable of making accurate and legible transcriptions of data.
• Must be capable of working well with others.
• Must have a good verbal and written communication skills.

Job Overview

The Associate Director, Systems and Strategy Management has in an essential role within the  Law Center’s Office of the Registrar team regarding support of the goals and mission of the Law Center – and as do all staff members, they provide excellent service to our constituents.

They interact with very broad constituencies, including current and prospective students, faculty, alumni, and other visitors; and respond to inquiries concerning Law Center administrative and academic policies and office operations. As well, they responsible for the accuracy of all information conveyed to students in person, via email or over the phone, and in handling their daily duties.

They nurture an in-depth knowledge and command of all policies, and interpret and apply those policies; maintain good judgment in identifying which issues should be brought to the attention of Associate Registrar or the Registrar; and communicate clearly and effectively about technological processes.

The Associate Director completes student system functions and reporting requests, and serves as a backup to the Associate Registrar on university-wide and Banner technology committees; and administer other responsibilities, including general administrative tasks associated with registration, examinations and graduation - three major functions for which duties are shared by the entire office.

They play a role in providing excellent service to our constituents on registration, reporting, system security and maintenance, final exams, and graduation to meet the goals and mission of the Law Center. Other responsibilities include developing, organizing, and executing technological functions of the Office of the Registrar; identifying and implementing of new procedures and technologies to further enhance academic processes; applying technical expertise to data reporting using the Cognos reporting tool and SQL; and implementing and testing improved processes that leverage established and emerging technologies.

Because of the cyclical nature of the Office of the Registrar’s responsibilities, every member of the staff – including the Associate Director - is called upon to work extended hours (including some weekend time) several times each semester (during orientation, registration, add-drop, exams, grading, and commencement). Their positive attitude and willingness to devote as much time as is required to do the job right are essential elements of a successful performance.

Work Interactions
 

Reporting directly to the Associate Registrar of Systems & Strategy Management, the Associate Director receives very general supervision, resolves most questions independently, and accomplishes most tasks without guidance. They use good judgment in presenting concerns to Senior staff and in proposing changes to existing policies and procedures in response to those concerns. These issues and concerns often directly impacts the Law Center’s accreditation and reputation, along with students’ academic success, ability to sit for state Bar exams, and compete for employment.

They work closely with the Systems and Data Analyst, and assist in the training of 15 full-time staff, temporary staff, and all other Law Center members on the use of the Banner Student Information System. As well, they interact with virtually the entire student body - approximately 2600 students – as well as with more than 100 fulltime and 150 adjunct faculty - either in person, over Zoom, or by telephone or email.

The Associate Director works with the Systems and Data Analyst to complete the heavy workload related to reporting, computer exam administration, and all other data-related operations of the office including Data Security, FERPA compliance and training, exams, grades, registration, commencement, and academic honors/awards. Additionally, they interact with the numerous constituencies at the Law Center and on Main Campus, including students, faculty, deans, other administrators, and other technology personnel - both within the University and  outside vendors.

Requirements and Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related Technology/Data Analytics field
• 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a Registrar’s office or similar technology based workplace
• Proficiency with database management, including reporting/analysis, and complex project management experience
• Availability to respond to technical emergencies during peak periods, as needed, outside of normal business hours
• Ability to maintain use of existing technologies and to explore new technologies to support the Office’s many functions

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A Senior Planner will be expected to complete duties with a relatively high level of independence and have considerable direction over assigned tasks due to an assumed understanding of project needs resulting from prior work experience:

• Performs technical review of land use and development proposals (master plans, site plans, subdivision plats, civil construction drawings, etc.) to ensure compliance with design criteria and regulations, mitigate impacts to the parks and open space system, and implement department goals and objectives.

• Initiates and fosters outreach and consultation with staff in other divisions of PROS as well as other departments to gather input related to potential impacts and mitigation measures for projects being reviewed.

• Prepares commentary and organizes project documentation so that plan review comments and decisions are well-grounded.

• Coordinates with external stakeholders, including developers and consultants, to address plan comments, ensure conformance with standards and criteria, and reach agreement on final implementation measures.

• Serves as subject matter expert in parks, recreation, and open space; explains all planning related policy, requirements, and objectives of the department; fosters collaborative relationships.

• Provides planning expertise and serves as department representative for various internal and external plans/projects at meetings and on committees; reviews reports and coordinates comments.

• Provides support for amending design and development criteria, standards, policies, and processes.

• Prepares and presents projects and recommendations to boards, commissions, and city council as needed.

• Utilizes ESRI suite of GIS applications including ArcGIS PRO and ArcGIS Online applications for analysis of planning related questions, as needed.

Education: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography/GIS, Landscape Architecture, Engineering or related field required (Master’s Degree preferred).

Experience: 

• At least 4 years progressively responsible planning experience.

• Relevant experience conducting plan review or plan creation, preferably involving planning and design of parks, recreation, open space, and trails.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, landscape architecture and design, and engineering, with specialized knowledge in parks, recreation, and open space planning preferred.

• Proficient reading and interpreting engineering drawings, site plans, master plans, and landscape plans.

• Technical design knowledge related to grading, drainage, and construction techniques is highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Planning, Design and Construction division is currently operating under a hybrid schedule which requires one day a week in the office minimum. During the 6-month probationary and training period, additional days in the office may be required. Based on city management direction the number of days in office may change. After hours and weekend work will be required occasionally for boards and commissions meetings and public engagement.

• When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the city, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.

Overview & Responsibilities

Overview:

The general function of this position is performing project management duties for repair orders from customer inquiry through invoicing. The project manager position is responsible to analyze, quote, process and coordinate orders with the customers, shop operations, engineering and sales, while ensuring total quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability per company guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain required data to properly prepare repair quotations, including required scope, cost, pricing, lead-times, available resources, etc.

• Ensure that once quotation becomes an order, job is implemented properly.  This, including placing correct parts orders, writing accurate and detailed work scopes, and making sure all other required resources are available throughout job duration.

• Help to promote future business opportunities through customer satisfaction with all phases of their experience with Elliott.

• Properly analyze inspection reports in order that correct actions are taken. This should lead to orders that enable us to reach established profit goals and create customer satisfaction.

This position is responsible for supporting Risk Weighted Assets "RWA" Analytics within the Capital Controllers Group, specifically focused on derivatives analysis and RWA calculation relative to Basel Rule.

Position Summary

These positions are responsible for managing survey vendor contracts (Land Surveying Coordinator) to provide quality land surveying services in a safe and cost effective manner. This position will focus mainly on supporting gas customers, but may also assist in supporting electric customers. Detail of activities associated with land surveying projects include: develop project scope, calculate an in-house estimate for each project, generate request for quotes for cost and timeframes, initiate the data entry into the work management tool, monitor contractors and projects to assure quality/schedules/budgets are met, process invoices, review and perform quality checks on survey project deliverables for quality and compliance, deliver the finished products to the customer or requester, and close out projects in the work management tool. This individual should have a broad understanding of land survey concepts and need to utilize the resources of regionally located professional service providers in order to meet the demands of the customers. This individual will also be required to be a problem solver for customers and employees with a vision for applying new technology in order to increase quality and manage project cost. To tactically support and follow company goals, policies, and procedures as well as represent the company in a positive and professional manner with all internal and external contacts.

Responsibilities

Leadership, Survey Vendor Oversight

• Safely oversees contractor staff and outside consultants responsible for surveys of gas lines. May also oversee contractor staff and outside consultants responsible for transmissions lines, distribution lines, dam deformations, construction staking, land acquisitions and disposals of enterprise assets for a designated region
• Provides leadership to contracted survey crews by setting an example for professionalism, customer service, and honest communications
• Promotes good teammate relations and participates in the resolution of the team’s problems and concerns. Recommends employee training and development
• Interweaves internal resources and external contractors into a seamless service.

Project Management

• Serves as a representative of Land Services to monitor, inspect and review survey work performed by survey contractors for compliance with Duke Energy technical specifications, work schedules, budgets and recommends approval of deliverables
• Responsible for directing multiple survey vendors, solving complex problems involving conflicting data, ensuring the quality of the deliverables
• Maintains and provides management with regular progress reports on survey projects noting contractor performance, and provides feedback to reinforce good results as well as suggest corrective actions where required
• Thoroughly inspects and checks deliverables for accuracy and correctness. Deliverables include field work, maps, and electronic files
• Attends project meetings and obtains from all vendors a detailed cost estimate and agreed upon delivery due date
• Monitors contractors to ensure cost, timeframes, and work performance with existing Master Service Agreements and project control requirements
• Reviews invoices submitted by vendors and recommends payment based on performance and advises management of anticipated cost overruns of the estimated cost
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external personnel/groups
• Mediates and coordinates the resolution of problems between company departments in the acquisition and disposition of real estate
• Works with and maintains working relationships with vendors and governmental agencies as needed to acquire or resolve problems

Professional Leadership and Development

• Demonstrates sound judgment and creativity in resolving a variety of engineering/technical analysis problems applying technical skills; determines and corrects root cause problems
• Ensures the observance of safety and environmental compliance with internal staff and contract survey vendors and ensures they have the training they need
• Participates in professional organizations and associations (State Society of Surveyors, IRWA, and etc.)
• Stays abreast of all laws and governmental regulations affecting land surveying

Required/Basic Qualifications

• Associates degree in Surveying and Topography, Civil Engineering Technology or other related degree
• In addition to required degree, four (4) years minimum of related work experience
• In lieu of associates degree AND four (4) years minimum of related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND seven (7) years minimum of related work experience

• Prior experience supporting all aspects of natural gas surveying
• Land Surveyor in Training
• Project management background, specifically in construction or utility project management

• Extensive knowledge of professional surveying practices and procedures

• Able to work independently to check deliverables; performs complex computations using standard surveying software
• Ability to coordinate and direct all phases of the contract and in-house field surveys
• Familiarity with high voltage transmission route surveys
• Good understanding of Duke’s real estate and rights-of-way
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• 4 years or more progressive land surveying management

• Primary work location will be in an office environment
• Frequent visits to contract surveying firms
• Frequent visits to field survey projects in hot and cold weather conditions
• Occasional travel within the region as well as other regions within the Duke Energy service area
• Field mobility classification – work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
