Our Nottinghamshire based client is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established, growing business.

THE ROLE

The successful Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving sales and profit targets with both existing and new customers within your focus area. Other responsibilities will include:

Sales of standard products, maintenance and repair contracts and rental activities are among the essential tasks.
Optimally serve customers and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Have a quick ability to make (new) contacts, schedule appointments and show a proactive approach.
Keep up to date with trends and developments to be well prepared at every opportunity and chance.
Work in close cooperation with Project Teams, Inside Sales and other Account Managers.
UK travel to customers will be frequent and the potential for occasional EU travel.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal Business Development Manager will have a natural talent for relationship management and be able to demonstrate the following:

Experience in a similar sales role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
A proven track record in achieving sales targets and generating new business.
A proactive and results-oriented attitude, with excellent communication.
Logistical insight and the ability to understand and solve complex logistical issues of customers.

What could you be doing as a Project Manager?

You will oversee a portfolio of development projects. It is a fast-paced environment, so you will need to keep up to date with the progress of your schemes - finding solutions to keep to completion timeframes and meet our quality first standards.

You will lead a team of Project Managers and be responsible for day-to-day management and development of the team.

Managing the progress of projects, ensuring ongoing works are inspected and meet our quality standards and compliance with contract documents and budget.

Undertaking technical appraisals for each scheme.

Monitoring the costs to agreed budget.

Assessing the performance of contractors and employers’ agents, understanding any issues or delays.

Liaising with the Quality team, working together to address issues.

Building strong relationships with stakeholders, and collaborating with Platform colleagues in Sales and Lettings team



Some things we need from you:

Hold a relevant construction related professional qualification (MCIOB, MRICS, ARB, APM and/or RTPI) or have the equivalent experience.

Proven experience of managing construction (residential new build and refurbishment) works.

Experience in a management or supervisory role.

A strong understanding of development procedures and good practice, with knowledge of current construction and health and safety regulations.

Enjoy a challenge and seeking solutions.

Familiar with Homes England grant funding and understand the information requirements.

Ability to build good working relationships.

Knowledge of section 106 and how these developments are administered and delivered.



This role involves regular travel around Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. A driving licence and use of your own vehicle or alternative means of getting to the required locations is essential.

Job Summary

The Project Manager ensures that Flowserve meets our commitments on complex aftermarket orders related to repairs, upgrades, hydraulic rerates, and maintenance of rotating pumps and equipment for our customers in industries such as oil, chemical, pharmaceutical, municipal water/wastewater, and power. These complex projects involve technical challenges, substantial risk, and multiple service centers, and they may cross state and international boundaries. The position reports to the Services & Solutions Manager of Project Management, North America and the position is located in Rancho Dominguez, CA facility.

Responsibilities

• Leads kickoff meetings and phase gate meetings to coalesce strategies into actions. Identifies stakeholders and analyzes their expectations. 

• Proficient at contract review documentation and make sure it reflects what has been negotiated and ensure successful execution throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assists the project team to develop the scope of supply, to translate work breakdown structure into an activity-based schedule and to identify the critical path.  Helps the team to prepare key project management documents.

• Communicates project specifications, terms and conditions to key suppliers.

• Leads project review meetings and collaborates with all disciplines during the project, including engineering, operations, and sales, to ensure that Flowserve delivers on-time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Maintain a positive customer experience while tracking progress towards budget objectives. Monitors our on-time invoice submissions and cash collections.

• Develops communication plans.  Gathers and integrates reports, data, and information to communicate regular, accurate status and forecasts to all stakeholders, including customers.  Presents project progress to management on a routine basis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. An equivalent of education and experience may be considered.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in rotating or fixed equipment and/or equipment packages will be required.

• 2+ years of experience in project management or related order fulfillment role within a manufacturing environment is required. 

• Deep understanding of project management concepts, with a high proficiency in project management tools and software.

• Deep understanding of the Root Cause Analysis, warranty process and natural drive towards quality.

Overview:

The general function of this position is performing project management duties for repair orders from customer inquiry through invoicing. The project manager position is responsible to analyze, quote, process and coordinate orders with the customers, shop operations, engineering and sales, while ensuring total quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability per company guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain required data to properly prepare repair quotations, including required scope, cost, pricing, lead-times, available resources, etc.

• Ensure that once quotation becomes an order, job is implemented properly.  This, including placing correct parts orders, writing accurate and detailed work scopes, and making sure all other required resources are available throughout job duration.

• Help to promote future business opportunities through customer satisfaction with all phases of their experience with Elliott.

• Properly analyze inspection reports in order that correct actions are taken. This should lead to orders that enable us to reach established profit goals and create customer satisfaction.

• Maintain communications on all orders, including formal written communications, schedule and direct customer meetings, hold review meetings with shop personnel with regards to order status, and maintain communication with sales and management.

• Project management and engineering.  Projects will range from simple single-stage industrial equipment to complex multi-stage engineered apparatus.

• Order maintenance, including acknowledgment letters, accounting interface, maintaining job folders, closing out jobs, preparing information for invoicing and filing.

• Process and issue final reports to customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in engineering. Experience in repair of turbomachinery in lieu of engineering background will be considered.

• Project management certification is a plus.

• Candidate must be mechanically inclined and possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to handle difficult situations and demanding deadlines.

• Candidate must be able to work in multidisciplinary teams and possess the ability to develop and grow relationships.

The Business Development Manager (US Navy Surface Warfare) is responsible for the management and growth of Teledyne FLIR’s business with the Surface Warfare Community and related OEM customers.  The individual will target specific platform and program customers that are identified as appropriate candidates for FLIR’s solutions and technology; or are potential teaming partners.  Working with current and new Navy customers to establish requirements and mission needs that match Teledyne FLIR’s current and future product capabilities, this person will present Teledyne FLIR’s Electro-Optical, Unmanned, and Integrated Solution capabilities in an effort to secure product orders, development contracts and program business consistent with the forecast for the line of business.  This person will monitor and document market requirements and communicate these to the product management group in an effort to have current and future products better meet market needs.  He/she will provide customers with visibility to Teledyne FLIR’s product line, expertise in EO/IR and Integrated sensor systems and developmental capabilities at a variety of forums to include; personal meetings, formal briefings, social events, trade shows and seminars.

• Responsible for meeting the established bookings plan for products associated with the target customers and platforms.
• Responsible for identifying, qualifying and creating long term relationships with Defense OEM’s at every level including operators, buyers, requirements developers, program managers, logistics planners, contractors and senior leaders.
• Responsible for presenting Teledyne FLIR products, technology and developmental capabilities to target Defense OEM customers.  Potential forums shall include personal meetings, formal briefings, social events, trade shows and seminars.

• Responsible for identifying programs of interest and customer groups that match Teledyne FLIR solutions and presenting them for a pursue/no-pursue decision with senior management.

Key Responsibilities

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. The Finance Business Partner Manager position works closely with the Plant Manager, the site and group leadership team to drive key initiatives and help the Company achieve its goals and maximize returns on investments. The role uses data and analysis as a strategic asset to provide decision support, accurate planning, forecasting, operational productivity and investment analysis. This position will ensure accuracy and completeness in the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement planning and forecasting as well as timely variance analysis.

The position reports directly to the Finance Business Partner Director with matrix responsibilities to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Provide business and financial analysis identifying important trends to assist Operations in achieving its objectives.
• Analyze key metrics and provide insights and value-added analysis to leadership regarding revenue, margins, competitive landscape, products, customers, capital investments, etc.   Develop financial models that support analysis and lead to business understanding and decision-making.
• Make recommendations for potential improvements and identify potential risks and opportunities to financial targets.
• Drive Financial performance management including the annual budgeting, monthly forecasts, and communication of results.
• Identify and develop key actions in partnership with the site team required to achieve forecast targets.
• Drive processes and initiatives to reduce primary working capital and maximize operating cash flow.
• Provide timely and accurate financial information in compliance with US GAAP and company policies, procedures and controls.
• Meet all reporting deadlines with accurate and complete data.
• Develop strong working relationships with colleagues and corporate functions and all levels of the organization.
• In collaboration with the management team, ensure actions are clearly identified, continuous improvement projects are executed and delivered to meet objectives.

• Manages refinery and mid-stream projects with multiple strings (EP), large receiving terminal projects (CP & IP)

Scope:

• ·Project order values: approx. $20 million or less depending on product line.
• May be responsible for several projects simultaneously.

Role Responsibilities

(Schedule management)

• Leads project hand-over from Sales / Application side to Execution side
• Establishes master schedule and sub-schedules with Project Planner
• Maintains on-time delivery with monitoring of engineering, procurement, and manufacturing
• Develops periodic Project Progress Reports and issues to the customer.
• Develops and manages expediting and/or mitigation plans if delay occurs. Negotiates delivery extension with customers if needed.

Role Responsibilities

(Budget management)

• Confirms initial budget after project hand-over from Sales / Application with Execution team.
• Identifies budget overrun when it occurs.
• Approves additional budget when requested.
• Closes budget when a project is completed.
• Develops mitigation plan to manage budget.

Communication (Internal)

• Cooperates effectively with colleagues / partners across many departments.
• Manage conflicts between departments.
• Leads global projects with Jeannette, Sodegaura, Bangalore, and Tianjin.
• Communicates with Field Service and Technical Service for site activities as required.

Communication (External)

• Has significant contact with customers, vendors and subcontractors with backgrounds in operations, engineering, supervision, and purchasing.
• Manages meetings with customers such as kick-off meeting, coordination meeting, inspection meeting, and expediting meeting.
• Manages customers’ claims.

Technical Knowledge (Elliott Product and associated suppliers' knowledge)

• Understands Elliott products (compressors, steam turbines, hot gas expanders, cryogenic pumps/expanders)
• Understands industry standards including API and ASME.
• Directs engineering departments to manage schedule and budget if needed.
• Directs auxiliary suppliers such as motor, lube oil consoles, etc. to manage project schedule and budget.

Business Knowledge (Elliott System Expertise)

• Utilizes Elliott’s systems, such as Windchill, Oracle, and Lotus Note
• Understands revenue, margin, and absorption.
• Manages LD reserves.
• Manages invoicing with Finance by communicating with customers. ess Knowledge (Finance and Accounting Knowledge)
• Reviews terms of conditions, including LD, warranty, payments, delivery conditions, etc. in Purchase Orders.
• Manages contract change requests and Change Orders with Contract Admin
• Manages contract suspension or cancellation with supervisors’ support
• Understands Incoterms.
• Arranges export shipments.
• Monitors inbound logistics.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or similar discipline such as project or business management.)
• 5 years of project management experience.
• 5 years of experience of project engineering, or application / sales engineering
• 5 years of turbo machinery (or equivalent manufacturing industry) engineering experience.
