An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Street Enforcement Officers to undertake a variety of duties to improve the safety and quality of the street environment with a primary focus on enforcement by using delegated statutory functions. This will involve extensive communication and engagement with members of the public, businesses, other Council services and other stakeholders and may involve investigations and involvement in demanding and complex cases.

• Ability to interpret policy, procedure and legislation relevant to the role and apply it to working practices.

These positions are a varied and challenging statutory role suitable for motivated and enthusiastic individuals, based within the Private Rented Services Enforcement team. The post holders will be responsible for investigating complaints and taking appropriate enforcement action in relation to Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOs), unregistered landlords, the fitness and propriety of landlords and the new licensing regime in relation to Short Term Lets. This will include providing advice on compliance with the applicable legislation and licensing requirements to landlords, tenants and other interested parties, taking formal enforcement action when required.

The post holders will be expected to work across the City of Edinburgh as required, often working closely with partner agencies including the Police, delivering service priorities and excellent customer service at all times.

The successful candidates will have relevant knowledge and experience dealing with complex problems, investigation and enforcement experience and be used to interpreting and applying complex legislation.

Your new role
This role can be based out of either the Edinburgh or Glasgow offices, both located within the city centre with travel required across the country. Daily Duties

Timely and accurate completion of varied documentation and correspondence as allocated by the Support Manager in accordance with the fee earner instructions and appropriate department styles
Prompt and courteous handling of external and internal telephone calls
Prompt and accurate noting and delivery of messages written and oral to the appropriate person
Assisting fee earners with administration as required such as form filling
Liaise with Support Manager to help plan allocation of work

Experience

1 year legal experience required, ideally within property or conveyancing

As an Infrastructure Security Analyst, you will support the infrastructure security team to manage threats to TSB, whilst ensuring our security parameters remain at the appropriate levels to protect TSB and its customers. You will also provide relevant infrastructure security knowledge in all new and existing programmes across TSB. You will make a difference in your role by supporting the implementation of Infrastructure & Cloud security strategy, policy, controls, services, metrics and compliance. You will also support on vulnerability management, WAF, DDoS and Firewall controls, services, metrics and compliance for the on-premise and cloud estate. What you’ll bring
- A track record of recent delivery in offensive / defensive techniques and awareness of any open-source framework such as OWASP, CVSS etc.
- Has proven recent experience of delivery across networking and network security devices both on premise and in corresponding capabilities in cloud service providers.
- Full technical capability to quickly get hands on operating & optimising the tooling in place to implement the Vulnerability / Firewall / WAF & DDoS solutions.
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of DDoS and WAF protection measures.
- Good awareness of the concepts of micro segmentation
- Preferably a degree in an Information Security related discipline, or have certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CSSLP or equivalent.
