We are looking for a dynamic individual to take on the role of Advisory Resource Lead. In this role you will be instrumental in working with the leaders across Specialist Advisory, Strategic Advisory and wider Advisory & Programme Delivery (APD) business unit that we are part of to enable swift and effective decisions in the space of resource management.
Located within one of the portfolios, the Resource Lead will represent the Advisory Portfolios from a resourcing perspective, but it is imperative that you act in the best interest of APD, where the culture is to provide the best outcome for our clients and our colleagues.
You will play an instrumental role in:
- Enabling the operational management of the two portfolios, being critical in enabling delivery of client needs whilst working closely with team leads, team resource champions where we align the demands of the pipeline with the supply of high calibre teams of people
- Facilitating our headcount growth ambitions alongside talent acquisition in the recruitment and retention of staff alongside developing best proactive relationships with strategic partners.
- Orchestrating resourcing processes whilst ensuring that management information associated with recruitment and retention is maintained noting the variety of delivery models in how we advise clients (discrete packages of work through integrated teams, through individual secondments or implementation of change programmes with seconded teams).
Responsibilities include;
Talent management and retention
- Chair weekly resource meetings, review current workload across the portfolios and ensure the right balance of people in the right roles at the right billability
- Identify issues and support team leads to resolve overloading or where people have capacity
- Escalate key issues to the Portfolio senior leadership to resolve resource elements
- Review, monitor and support promotions, appointments and salary reviews
- Support with resource rotation and new opportunity discussions
- Help align current competencies and talent availability alongside desired areas of capability development
- Monitor staff movements, track and update changes as they unfold
- Engage with HR business partners to ensure colleagues are supported at all times
- Update Portfolio HR Business Partner Champion with respect to staff changes
- Regularly review the resource requirements with team lead
- Actively manage the bench when people become available
- Establish and track immediate and future resource requirements through proactive use of Connect Business, working alongside project managers and the commercial support team
- Enable the best use of the bench when people become available
Talent acquisition
- Engage with talent acquisition to establish and maintain key priorities
- Facilitate and drive recruitment processes through the hiring teams in support of talent acquisition teams
- Review of CVs of prospective candidates alongside team leads, recommend for interview, ensuring hiring managers are clear on interview panels; use best practice recruitment
- Support the onboarding process, including ensuring security clearances are initiated and in play

The Unit delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity up to £20bn, through the technical disciplines of Programme Management, Project Management, Project Controls, Scheduling, Cost Management, Estimating, Infrastructure Finance, Management Consulting, Digital Consulting and Education, Health and Care Management.
